Nikica Jelavic

Just my own opinion lads:

I think Jelavic is putting TOO much effort into helping the team whilst his goals have dried up.

I would like him to remain a focal point of attack down the middle rather than burn energy down the wide channels.
Just a game or two. The ball needs to fall for him in the box, rather than him chasing and chasing trying to work a space. Get back to relying on instinct.

That means the team as a unit needs to go forward together playing football, rather than the quick outlet option that has seen our results and form take a dip.

Easy to say I know, the team is struggling as much due to lack of depth of squad and not resting jaded players.

However, leave Jelavic to do his job and not take on duties that were being done by others in the first half of the season.

I don't know what it is with him at the moment

The lack of service or his confidence, or both?

Either way I'm desperate for him to come good again.

If Vic hadn't been a tit Jelavic would have scored today.

All good strikers are selfish lid.

I think he looked 'decent' yesterday, all of his touches were decent.

I honestly believe it's just a matter of time before he starts banging them in again, I don't mind if he doesn't - as long as someone else does it instead!

good one lets blame vic, and maybe in all of the previous games it was the midfielder fault for not putting in the right ball.

fact is he is now easy to mark and cant do the step back and slot like he was doing last season, lacks pace so if the defence play a high line they can play him offside or get back and force him wide if he does get through. lacks skill and imagination to take on players when he does get the ball. he is effectively a darren bent without pace.

is jelavic plays like this next season he will head the same way yak and beattie did, he is a passenger at the moment

Jelavic peeled off for that pass and was in acres of space. Anichebe should have got his head up for a second and picked out the pass.

Jelavic also didn't completely lose his runner for the Reading goal yesterday - that was Anichebe.

Don't get me wrong, Vic has had good games lately but it's not picking on him to point out blatant mistakes when they happen.

And Jelavic isn't a passenger at all - completely incorrect.. He's still a constant threat and adding to the team play in a meaningful manner. Watch Pienaar's goal yesterday; he's looking off the shoulder, as soon as the shot is fired off he's running in for the rebound. All game long he was doing that as well as hitting the channels.

The problem with Jelavic right now is solely his end product in terms of finishing, nothing else.
