He not going to improve this season lets just play him and if he gets goal the bonus . He needs this season over and done with so he can get some decent pre season

Then we can kiss goodbye to any decent PL finish and cup run. We desperately need him to start finding something.

I think part of the issue is the supply to him. He's cut adrift upfront with both their centrebacks. I can't really remember any chances where all he had to do was put it in the net, which he had an abundance of last year. The other thing is that the ball isn't falling right. Maybe it's his concentration or he's too tense, but he's not getting the ball under control as quickly as he was.

...or maybe he's just not able to cope with life as a PL striker for a top PL team?

We have being doing it all season without him . We keep hold for 5 months but starting to slip the last few months and we havent got much longer left of this season . It wont matter if hes scoring or not now because most of the team have had to chip in with the goals for most of the season so cant see why they cant chip in for the last few months

To me it seems Jelavic is knackered both physically and mentally. After being at the game saturday and watching tonights and a few others, he looks devoid of ideas when the ball comes to him. There are times when the ball is being played to him in space and he is turning back into where the oppostition players are instead of taking the ball and attacking them/having a pop at goal. Also his choice of pass or execution of pass are either the wrong choice or the ball is just behind the player it is intended for.

Now whether its the fact he is knackered what with adapting to the pace of the EPL for the second half of the season, then going straight to the Euros and then back into a long EPL season i dont know, but i would safely say we can write the rest of this season off. Give him a good rest over the summer and hopefully he will come back refreshed and rejuvenated for the new season.

We have seen what he can do so we know a good player is in there, i just think personally its a matter of persevering till the end of the season and hopefully the real jelavic will be back for the start of the next. Its just a shame that we are so light up front that we cannot take the heat off of him for the next 5 - 6 games and give him a proper rest now.

Concerned for him now. Genuinely concerned.

I wouldn't have minded had he not scored but actually looked like a viable threat against League One opposition, but once again he struggled like [Poor language removed] with relatively simple things time and time again..

What has happened to the lad??

jelly has committed more off-sides than any other player in the league...tell,s me that something is very wrong with the lad because he just does,nt have the pace to get beyond the defender.

He did that on the edge of their box first half. All he had to do was turn in toward goal between two defenders and have a go...he did the opposite and turned away from the box. Couldn't believe my eyes, it was easier to do the former.

FFS posted this in the match thread by accident...

We've just won 3-1, with Jelavic involved in two of the three goals (distracted the 'keeper for Ossies, and basically won the penalty - or should have anyway) and who could have had two assists if Gibson and Jagielka had their shooting boots on, yet because he hasn't scored he's played badly apparently.

Didn't see much wrong with him at all today. A few loose touches, but he worked his arse off throughout, worked the channels again, made intelligent movement, acted as a water carrier repeatedly for Pienaar and Mirallas. A decent centre forwards game.

People seem to be tying too much importance on him nudging one in off his arse or something. If he had flicked in the Osman goal, people would be saying he had a good game.
