No, this season he would have been offisde or spooned the 2nd chance into Row Z.

As Dave said, its not a problem the way hes playing, its the fact that hes simply not performing.

He is offside a hell of a lot.
To me, that means he is trying to get an extra yard that he didn't need to get last season. Is he fully fit ?

I think he's just offside a lot because he knows he hasn't got the pace to run past defenders and reach the ball unless he's timed his run perfectly.

Messi, Ronaldo, Villa, Aguero...

Oh no wait, the best goalscorers just score lots of goals.

Na lad the best goalscorers usually dont do much else but score an the three I listed who are all top goal scorers usually did just stay static. Didnt have to go wide.

The four I listed are all top goal scorers who drift wide and don't stay static.

Considering you listed 3 and I listed 4 I deffo win the internet.

The difference between Jelavic's game in the last match of the season against Newcastle and now is staggering mate.

For example, go here:

http://www.soccer-blogger.com/2012/...pienaar-jelavic-hibbert-heitinga-goals-video/

... and play that video, and all you have to do is look at the very first attack. The ball is sent to the flanks, ball is worked to Felli - and Jelavic is right between the centre halves running off the shoulder.

This season, he would have been the one coming deep to win that flick, and even if it did work to Fellaini, he'd be behind the play out wide, completely uninvolved in the attack.

Tbh, rather than an isolated clip, I'd be more persuaded by some stats comparing this season with (proportionately) last in terms of kms covered and zones worked and all the other wizardry they employ these days. You might be right he's asked to play more deeply and out wide (I think it's debatable myself), but we know he's getting chances and spurning them. If he' put three more away this season you wouldn't be bringing up pitch coverage.

I know the fears surrounding Moyes and strikers but I have to ask (unless he's a complete [Poor language removed]) why he'd want to destroy completely the way in which a striker who got 11 goals in 10 games plays.
