Nikica Jelavic

He has no pace at all. He reminds me of an Alan Stubbs and i dont want to see us like that at the back ever again. Hes not as good as Heitinga, Jagielka or Distin. Lacks experience for such a crucial season. Hes last resort!

Heitinga isn't pacey, and he's barely interested in playing. Plenty of defenders with little pace succeed because they are intelligent on the pitch, with their positional play and reading of that game. If Duffy has that there's no reason he isn't a top 4 player.

Just described Heitinga

Back on thread... Jelavic isnt getting the service has had very few clear cut chances this season and has still scored 5 goals. But people calling for Velios

I think felli needs to move back alongside gibbo in CM and have someone like osman play behind jelly think he would flourish with someone who would provide more assists rather than goals, like others have said I think our system relies on felli for the goals which hampers jelavics game, would also like kev to pass to jelavic a little more rather than always go for the shot

Yes because without Fellaini there jelavic bossed things yesterday.

We shouldnt play Jelavic? Wow

He's not playing well. He's not getting involved in our play, he's not making chances for himself and he's not taking what chances he is getting (which are mostly headers rather than the one touch shots he's best at).

Either he's off form but will get better (in which case we should drop him until he does) or he can't play in the system we currently play in (in which case we should drop him and play someone who can).

We got no one. Vellios is not the answer.

stop relying on the Fellaini hoof ball and get the ball into his feet inside the box!!!

Right. Except yesterday showed what happens when we dodn't have Fellaini to collect aerial balls and it wasn't that heitinga and jagielka suddenly learned how to pass, it was just that our aerial balls weren't being won by anyone.
