I think it's a combination of factors mate, he's played more or less non stop since he signed so I think fatigue is a factor, inthink he's also playing a foil role more, with Mofro and Belg Kev in the team, while the variance we have in terms of our style of play and attacking options now means not everything is going through him now the way it did when he first signed!

Teams are also showing us huge respect, they are playing deep lines to try and absorb our attacking meaning he's getting in behind with his movement less, alot of our goals are scored from deep or secondary play.

Have to agree there, especially with the fatigue thing. Although, did you go blackpool pre season? he looked so fat it was unbelievable, like the yak in his prime! Still dont think he's lost all that in fairness, be interesting to see how he does with the number of fixtures in quick succession we've got now

How did he miss that header from our corner from 4 yards out unmarked just before halftime? 4 yards unmasrked & missed the target - he had his worst game for us today he looks fed up with a lack of service!

That miss was glaring if Victor had missed that this forum board would have been hammered!
TBH we looked better when Jelly was injured & victor was playing for his place!

Last season we were sliding balls behind defences and Jelavic was slotting for fun, this season, apart from the odd game we're not and he isn't slotting. Apart from a chance he had at Reading I can't think of many slottable chances he's missed this season. (awaits long list of examples to blow me out of the water)

We're mostly playing down the flanks this season and he's missed about seven free headers.

Nice to see the positively...

Positivity even mate eh?

Look it's the game i dread every year anyway we have been on the wrong end of absolute pastings conceding 4-7 on numerous occasions under DM's tenure and the amount of chances we are giving away this year frightens me.

Ox or walcott have pace to burn carzola, arteta and podolski are all top draw player who given the opportunity will punish us and the way our team is playing I can see it happening. The problem is there is no bite about this side we get carved open like a hot knife through butter against the Holts and Di franco's of this world so no i'm not optimistic.

Velios is turd.

See this is the thing. If a player is out of form you replace them with someone else.

You try Duffy instead of Heitinga, you try Vellios instead of Jelavic. It might not work but if the alternative is to keep playing someone who's playing really badly then you give it a shot. Sometimes it pays off. It's not like Vellios hasn't scored goals for us, before or Duffy hasn't kept clean sheets for us.

I wish Moyes would give chances to people outside the 14-15 players he always trusts. We have this situation where players in bad form are just continusly picked while their competition sit on the bench and I'd rather that changed.
