Nikica Jelavic

Then he needs to come deep for it then. A top striker wont allow a game to bypass them. Silver service isn't always available, I'm afraid.

But when he comes deeper, he's out of position and the ball just gets launched over his head... Point is when he was slottin them left right an centre last season it was because we played it on the deck and gave him an opportunity to do what he does best and give him a one touch finish

It depends on what makes the striker a 'top' one. Jelavic is a goalscorer. He can't dribble past men for fun, he's not quick, he's not a physical brute.

Give him a chance to slot and he'll slot. That's what he's done for all of his Everton goals.

He's not getting those chances, and yes that's a two way street -- you need movement. But his movement looks the same to me; I was watching his runs and constant gesturing for passes that didn't come.

The service is the problem. Although I did say that with Saha too, to a lesser extent. When strikers don't score people have a tendency to blame only them, but our style and tactics this season really aren't getting the best out of him. I thought with Felli out we might be a bit more creative but for some mad reason we spent most of the game hoofing it to him, as he was outmuscled, outjumped and outnumbered by their grocky CBs..

The volley where he was rightly fuming after the ref gave a goal-kick instead of a corner and the one where Naismith managed to completely screw up a simple pass when Jelavic was through on goal.

Both were chances he loves and what he wants, Naismith one prime example just needed a better ball and he would've slotted

Actually, I don't think he's out of form, in fact it's the way were playing. We're just hoofing the ball up at him and expecting him to "do a Felli" when that will not work. Jelavic is all about us playing it on the deck and him getting into the box, a cut back and bam goal. Stop that long ball and play how we did against ie villa Southampton then I am sure he will be back on fire.

Think you're kidding yourself. He's not playing well at all and it isn't just that he's not scoring. He just doesn't seem to be getting involved enough and seems to be losing possession a lot. He isn't putting himself in positions to score at the moment and looks like he's lost a bit of confidence, he doesn't really look likely to score at the moment.

We need him to snap out of it soon because his form is vital to us.

I think everyone is starting to see this now.

The way we are playing is not brnficial to him. He really is not getting any clear cut chances at all!

No, he's playing well and like RFUS said his movement is exactly the same, he's not getting the right service. Get it down and give him them little through halls ie Southampton or them cut backs ie villa and he slots, as the fat Spanish waiter would say FACT

Disagree with that, think he's struggling to find space in the box and he isn't anticipating chances as well. I've no doubt that when it's put on a plate for him he'll finish but he needs to be doing more than he is at the moment.

He can't do anymore, the times today he got in them positions it didn't go his way eg the volley the was blocked and shouldve been a corner and the naismith cock up, other times it was just twated at his head and he wasnt winning it against them two monsters at the back

The Baines cross that he wasn't alert to?
The rebound form the keeper after Naismith had challenged?
The Osman cross/shot that went just beyond the far post?

They were all chances he could've scored from if he was in form imo.

He could also be keeping hold of the ball a lot better than he is which would allow us to build attacks that could provide him with more chances. He isn't pulling his weight at the moment.
