So you think its coincidence that every striker we get has a good season then goes bad?
No but to say Moyes ruined them 4 is harsh. If you don't have millions to spend it's very rare you find a top, top striker and we've got very lucky in getting Jelavic for so cheap.
Beattie was poor, Johnson wasn't brilliant and was sold for a good price, Yakubu got a very bad injury and Saha was probably finished most of the time he's been here. Moyes' fault? maybe in signing Beattie though to say he actually "ruined" them is harsh imo.

You really are spent lad. Go and read 4chan or something you terrible, terrible troll.
Muggins: Damon being Damon, as per usual.
before seeing this thread , ive always said jelavic is the new andrei kanchelsk , just because of the fact we got andrei and jelavic both in the january window , and both did/done wonders in half the season , also didnt andrei crack 2 past the RS at anfield when he first came ?
I think most people's criticisms of Moyes when it comes to strikers is that he likes them to play in a very specific manner in usually a 4-5-1 formation. That's fine if you've got a player like Marcus Bent who will run all day but with players like Saha and Yakubu that just wasn't going to work well for long periods of time, because they're not that kind of player.
Was Torres 'ruined' by his manager? Or did he just get injured and lose confidence?
simply because he's 10x the all round striker than any of the previous mentioned.
He really does score when he wants.
Sorry but no.
Saha and Yakubu at their best were both better all round strikers than Jelavic has been so far.
He's done well so far yes both in giving us the kind of strikers movement we'd been missing, and by showing a great strikers instinct in the box.
But when fit and playing well Yak and Saha were just as good, and in Yaks case probably better all round players.
Jelavic needs to keep it up next season to be as good as Yak was.
Will be interesting to see how we do when Jelavic goes through a poor spell and what he brings to the team then.
