Im just gonna say it, Kevin Campbell wasnt that good mate.

He scored some great and important goals for us, but his strikerate was terrible.

It's funny because neither Kevin Campbell nor Duncan Ferguson have that good a strike rate but Tony Cottee's is completely boss.

And yet, having watched all three live, there's no doubt in my mind who the better two strikers were for us.

Anyway, this season is enough for me to rate Jelavic as boss. Next season, if he keeps it up, I'll agree that he's the best since Sharp. Bit too early for me yet, but I've got high hopes.

Just a quick question I dont know if this has been mentioned before but I was just wondering what would happen in the following scenario........We purchased Jela from Rangers for £5m and paid half up front with the remainder spread over three years, if Rangers go out of business and close would we still have to pay the other half??????

I'm inclined to say yes.

Mate I HATED Cottee, I think he was the first current Everton player that I hated.

I loved Campbell, but not for his strike rate, for what he did for us, he scored some VERY important goals.

And Duncan gave me hope, when all hope had gone, but his strike rate was a complete joke.

I'm inclined to say yes. They're not going to go out of business though, they're worth too much to the Scottish economy.

as it stands we wont be paying any were near £5 mill for him

Yakubu's all round game was massively under-appreciated, he was a intelligent player with awareness and vision. He was great at holding a defender off, looking after the ball and slipping a clever pass in behind a fullback. Good finisher, terrific strength, always dropped deep and made himself available, despite the claims that he wasn't a team player. Perfectly capable of playing upfront on his own.

Saha was the most naturally gifted of the three, he was excellent technically and could score a goal out of nothing, from anywhere, but he had too many games where he wasn't involved and didn't offer enough composure and movement in the final third. At his age, with the injuries he's had over the years, he was probably better suited to playing with a partner. He looked really deadly as a second striker, behind Beckford, but we barely saw it.

As for Jelavic, I'd say he's already offering us more than Saha, and we'll see more of what he's about the more he plays. He's not as silky as a Berbatov, but he's intelligent, has a good awareness of what's around him and can do those little give and go's in and around the box. Varied movement, good aerial ability and a more consistent mentality than Yak and Saha, there's alot to work with there. He tries mad things aswell, overhead kicks, set pieces, shoots with both feet, I don't think he'll limited to penalty box finishing.
