New Captain?

I think subconsciously people think a captain should be someone old or that’s been here ages, when it doesn’t have to be either. Xhaka walked into Sunderland as captain and lifted the standards of the club from day 1. It should be Dewsbury-Hall.
When was the last time we bought someone and they went straight in as captain?

I voted for KDH but I could of easily picked the best British keeper since Southall .
Both are loud mouths and great communicators .
Garner could do it also but you can tell he is more of a thinker than a motivator .
Love all 3 .
KDH and Garner are both good shouts… For the distant future.

They’re both still too young and inexperienced to be captain at the moment, IMO.

Pickford would definitely make a good captain until then.

I'd like to see Jake O'Brien on the list.

I think he would make a good captain,
a commanding presence and would accept no nonsense when liasing with referees, with the captain being a big part of discussions within a game with the match official.

Garner has come a long way and is right up there for me but I'd give it to Dewsbury-Hall next season (or make him vice captain to transition).

Being a leader isn't just always getting in the ref's face or screaming at people or throwing in mad tackles... It's constantly demanding the ball and taking responsibility, even when the chips are down.

He elevates the team when he's on the pitch for me, even if he's not playing particularly well.

Having a GK as skipper just doesn't feel right regardless of Pickfords remarkable loyalty.

Garner for me
I see what you mean, mate…

But Pickford does control his backline with commanding authority, and he doesn’t take any BS.
So there’s no reason that it wouldn’t translate to the rest of the team if he were captain.

Garner does everything that a captain does, watch his game. He's straight to the ref, straight to a confrontation, he'll rile a player to stamp his ground like tarks would.
He forms our play and tells the players where to position themselves.
He's always talking/pointing.

You could carry on, he does everything a captain should do, just without the armband.

KDH is a great shout, but he doesn't carry all the same traits..

Branthwaite, too chilled out.
