Don't see it. I'm pretty sure i'm right when I say that this season he is statistically the best English defender in the Premier League. Yep thats right and he has been up there in the las few seasons too. No drop off, so we would be nuts to phase him out next season. Just so we all know how solid our defence has been this season, over 50% of our goals conceded came in 4 games! That's a phenomenal effort over 25 games! In fact we have only conceded more than 1 goal in 7 games!! A lot of that is down to Tarky organising and throwing his body on the line. Yes he has had the odd blip but so have most. He has led us through some difficult times in Coleman's absence and IMO he should be the next in line. I think he, Branthwaite and O Brien in a 3 next season will be massive.

But we won’t start in a 3 next season, that’s just not a Moyes standard setup, so either one of Branthwaite or O’Brien are on the bench, or Tarkowski gets phased out.
Not arsed what some stat website says, my eyes tell me, and lots of others, that he’s been pretty gash and a liability for large parts of this season.

Tarkowski has been a good captain but Garner for me. Consistent and doesn't lose his head when under pressure or chasing a goal. Always sticks to the gameplan.
KDH I wouldn't mind, he does seem more vocal than Garner.
Branthwaite would need to show his injury problems are behind him before he enters the conversation.

Pickford a psycho, and we need to be weaning ourselves from Tarks. Ill go garner...in the last game v fulham him and kdh were up in the refs face 'splaining things.
Can't believe so few votes for Pickford! The lad has been insanely loyal to Everton and it's highly likely he'll end his career with us. Could have left us numerous times and stuck around. For me, nobody comes close. The aim should be Pickford for 3-4 years, before it's inherited by Branthwaite (ignoring the fact that he'll probably be sold at some stage) when he's entering his prime and can take the armband for 5 years.
I did vote for Branthwaite. Firstly because I think he#d be a great captain but also because it might help tie him to our club.

For the first time in, i cant remember, we have a number of players who can fill the role better than someone who can just shake a ref's hand before the match. I'm happy with that. Anyone in that list would do a good j9b. Tarks, for me, or any of the younger midfielders listed for the future.
You need an outfield player as captain. They’re the only player actually allowed to talk to a referee so you can’t have him charging all over the pitch for discussions.
I think subconsciously people think a captain should be someone old or that’s been here ages, when it doesn’t have to be either. Xhaka walked into Sunderland as captain and lifted the standards of the club from day 1. It should be Dewsbury-Hall.
