New Healthy Start

haha don't blame me, most of my current diet comes from this thread, would prefer something other than fish for lunch.

i might have a look for some cheapish manjuka honey at the weekend, possibly go as far as 4 quid if the other half doesn't notice lol Only thing is i never finish honey. Got a bottle there in the house that half of it has set, been there months on end, so guessing it has gone off well by now. I'm the same with jam and marmalade, i buy them and use them twice
Don't think honey goes off as such, but it does crystalise. If it's still in date, just plonk it in a bowl of warm water to return it to its normal state.

I think, my work pants are more looser than they have been this week.

both a good and bad thing tbh, because i need to make a new hole for my belt so they don't fall down soon but pain in the arse because until i fit into the 38 ones i'm not buying any new ones unless i see a pair in a charity shop to make do for the time being.

My scales in the house also saying i'm around 15 and a half, which going on the dietitians ones, perhaps puts me close to losing 3 pounds already this week as the house ones always put me at a higher weight.

might have to get a subway salad today as i haven't got a lunch box with me today, BUT what i was thinking of doing was asking for just a salad bowl with no sauce and no topping and buying a tin of kippers to reduce any chance of it being full of fat and therefore still healthy.

didn't have porridge so didn't melt the stuff this morning, ran out of time to do it, but had a harvest breakfast bar to put something in my stomach before coming to work.

Oh and side note, got a new dieting technique lol

I now brush my teeth at like half 7. Agreed with my son i would do it with him every morning and before bed, so i brush my teeth at that time so i won't be then eating after it and sticking crap all over my clean teeth.

Don't want to sound like one of those melts that goes on about their macros but try upping your protein that you eat and limit yourself on carbs. I did that and coupled it with drinking at least 2-3 litres of water a day and regular exercise (go jogging round Sefton 3x a week) and on my way to getting under 200lbs for the first time in ages. Instead of eating say a fried egg on toast I'll lash the toast and just have two boiled eggs instead of fried. If I do want carbs I'll make sure it's not too heavy so make some sweet potato chips instead of normal chips and lay off the crisps and sweets until the weekend. When I say exercise as well I really mean I start at the "gate" at Sefton and by the time I reach the lake I'm already tired and then when I reach that bridge I'm almost dry heaving and my legs are shaking then I walk back the rest of the way while some woman about 50 passes me on her 3rd lap. But it's really good to work up a proper sweat at least 3x a week (or so I'm told) and it's actually something I look forward to now. It's just a normal thing now the dieting and doesn't bother me at all. I still have a takeaway on Saturday night now and again I just don't go overboard. I still eat chocolate and sweets it's just about moderation. Sorry if I've just repeated what some others have said earlier in the thread just thought I'd throw in what I'm doing right now as it seems to be working. Down from 227lbs to 205lbs since last Saturday and started doing it properly late May.

haha cheers mate.

Right now i do have low carbs, high protein, drink water or green tea (only just started coffee again this week), with no crisps chocolate or sweets, so minimal sugar intake and 6 a day if i can help it.

Only thing i am missing to really speed it up right now is the exercise to be fair. Not for lack of wanting to do it but making sure i keep up with the eating well bit at least whilst i am not exercising, went chippy for other half tuesday night so didn't eat any tea, less calories than a chippy anyway lol
