New Healthy Start

I'm not talking Crisp N Dry. A good quality extra virgin olive oil has many health benefits drizzled on a salad.
makes it all greasy though, think that is my hang up with it. Don't really like oily things, fish being the exception, but even then i try to get rid of the oil.

when i go shopping at the weekend i'll have a look then. as much as i may not enjoy it as much , if it is good for me then why not?

careful, he'll be drinking pints of olive oil for breakfast!
i have porridge and water for breakfast i have you know!

I drink nothing but water these days, and green tea in work. 2 cups of coffee a week, both at weekends, then that is it! all other drinks are water.

Because you don't like oily things?

A good salad I used to have is bag of salad, mackerel fillets (the vacuum sealed ones from Tesco) and a big blob of houmous or sweet chilli sauce. Lovely.

haha that is more or less i buy now anyway. except tinned not packed mackrel. I actually found mackrel to be too salty tbh, nice once in a while but i'll stick to kipper and sardines for the time being.

Ash you really need to go and see a nutritionist who can tell you why Subway salad is not a healthy option, and who can basically write down what you should be eating because you don't have a scoops and you won't listen to anyone here.
It might be marginally better for you than a donner kebab but ffs man.
Oh and it takes 5 mins to pop to the shop and buy some stuff to make your dinner for work.

You seem like an inherently lazy man, no offence.

I own a pair of scales mate because it was suggested on here. I cook more fresh teas, because it was suggested in here. I eat a lot more fresh fish now, because it was suggested on here. I eat a bowl of minimal sugar porridge in the morning because it was suggested I do so. To be honest most of the changes I have made so far have all been down to suggestions from this thread. I'll be the first to admit I don't know ins and outs but I have taken most suggestions on board and actually added them to my daily diet.

And no, it's not difficult to go the shops but when you have put down most of your spare money in a month buying wedding stuff and spend an extra 20 quid on the shopping each week to get healthier meals, plus paying for my son back to school it makes it difficult to just nip the shops because it kinda leaves you skint. So 2 quid a day over the road for a salad is my best option right now.

But yeah, subway salads might not be the healthiest thing going but compared to my old dinners, it's a massive change and adds a hell of a lot more veg into my diet. Considering I am avoiding bread, potato , anything fatty , not buying any snacks either, it still comes out a lot better for me than previously.

And side note. Jumped on the scales this morning, immediate reading told me I've dipped under 16 stone which would make my 4 pound loss real in just 4 days. With 2 workouts and 4 more health days to go until my next weigh in, I could hit or even smash my week target. All off the back of eating subway salads for lunch.

So yeah mate, I appreciate the feedback I really do. But it's counter productive to be negative for the sake of being negative. The shoot down of subway salads is going to stop me getting them from next week, but comparing them to a k3bab as you say is a little far of the mark.

Oh and today's salad was ceaser dressing and tuna.

I hope they turn this thread into a movie about one man's struggle with Subway ranch sauce and back to school expenses. I for one would pay good money to see it.

haha spent easily 250 quid on wedding stuff so far this month, kinda eats into your spare cash a bit! Spent 95 quid just so they can let us get married before adding in sons suit, dresses, additional acessories etc.

But this thread will be me in 3 months just before my wedding telling exactly how far i have came in 5 months. If i fail to hit my target, then it just continues on, but ideally i want to be posting on here about how many inches smaller my pants are and how much weight i have lost in that time.

That makes no sense whatsoever. For arguments sake, you have £2 subway salads Mon-Fri. That's a tenner. A big bag of salad is a quid, tomatoes 50p, cucumber 50p. That's the basis of your salad for £2 right there, saving you £8.

I just cannot understand how you think buying salads from subway is somehow the most cost-effective way to eat.

Because so far this week, had to stay late in work last night before meeting up with best man to sort out a stag do for me, night before had to go round inlaws for a memorial spread for their nan, monday was trying to sort wedding stuff out before having to go home. So not really had time to run the shops after work.

Ideally mate i want more than just a bag of lettuce and that as a lunch, want more greens in it and different veg as i have been looking up what to get. It has just been one of those weeks where i have been busy every day so haven't been able to just nip the shop. If aldi did any decent salad bags i would have went there.

Stick at it and take on board the advice offered in here and I'm sure you'll get there mate. Everyone means well and don't take the criticisms to heart, people are just trying to help.

I'll obviously continue to mock most of your posts in here though, but it's only because I have deep routed emotional issues.

Aldi do do decent salad bags. Lidl certainly do, I buy them all the time.

Alternatively, buy an actual lettuce and cut it up, same result, and even cheaper.
