either this is all true and you are a loon. Or you're making it up and you're a loon.

One serious question mate if you don't mind. How much booze would you drink before on an average week? Have you given up completely? and if so how long for?
how much? A night out probably.

Haven't drank properly in....probably 7 and a half years now. Not teetoal but very rarely drink.

Also one thing i can promise you is that anything i type is true. unlike some others don;t see the point in spinning alter egos :)

ah ok - haven't read the whole thread but wondered if you were giving up the booze. Since I've started running and cut down on ale my weight has dropped off. though my knees ache like hell.

i was changing everything and getting into shape at the same time. so food, exercise, etc. 4 weeks in, this thread has just turned into an online journel of sorts. juswt posted every day or two where i am up to and if anyone wants to offer advice i take it and try to implement it.

For example the fish on my salad, bought scales, avoiding bread/pasta/potato most days etc

if you want my tuppence for rice I use grated cauliflower. You can also juice cauliflower and make decent pizza bases out of the leftovers.

can't stand caluiflower but if i ever buy some then i will keep that in midn, so its cauliflower instead of rice?

yeah mate just grate it up if you wanna heat/soften it just put a tiny bit of oil (coconut for curries) and maybe a tiny bit of stock for a couple of minutes. Served it at ours once when I cooked for some mates and they couldn't tell the difference.

i may do that, although at this rate i am turning vegetarian swapping stuff out for veg haha

I went vegetarian for a couple of months in central America. Possibly the worst place to do it. Did not enjoy. Maybe just stick to chicken
i enjoy eating meat too much to stop altogether, always got to have something n my plate.

Otherwise i probably would have just gone the whole hog. Although saying that next shopping trip i will probably start picking up quorn stuff to substitute things like mince in my meals.

2 day update.

Haven't really been working out. Seem to have lost that get up and do it motivation i once had which i'm kicking myself for. Haven't been able to do the yoga in the morning due to tiredness and of a night finding oppertunities harder to do a workout.

foodwise i am maintaining the healthy eating approach although had an ice cream past 2 nights after tea. Food wise doing well, salads for dinner and smaller healthier meals for tea. Sunday was tuna pasta and last night was 3 heck sausages (about 240 cals in total) some mash and some veg.

Been eating these porridge pots again as well, to make sure i have breakfast in me to help with the metabolism. Looking where i work i am considering going to a wight loss thing where they offer advice and keep a track of your weight etc and insanity session on a friday as well. I know i wont do that at home but stick me in a hall for 30 minutes with others and it will push me more to get the most out of it. Glanced at tai chi but i don't think that would be for me.

So yeah, 4th week and although i am watching what i eat i have regressed actively which i am beating myself up about but i'm trying to find the kick i need to get back into it. Perhaps pushing it for so long as had the rubber band effect, i need to get it back again as i need to drop another stone by 2 weeks to really progress. Sure the scales say i have gone up again as well.....But yeah, i know i will lose weight anyway by the way i am eating, just need to get the motivation back again.

Motivation, smotivation - it's about discipline!

lol it is less the actual workout i have noticed but the effort to do it.

Like i done the Tae bo last night despite not being arsed, but doing the thing i was fine even though i have done it several times already. if anything enjoy it more as i can flow through it knowing what is coming.

but it is that not arsed atitude that i need to overcome, monday i didn't work out when i had chance to, workouts are partly revolve around chance to so can't stick to a specific plan sadly
