New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I love being behind the goal, I love standing at away games, bit for 19 games a season at home, many of which I walk a round trip of 9 miles to/from the game, I didnt want to be standing so elected for South Upper. I sit down, I jump up when it gets close or exciting (not often granted) and I shout and sing as do many around me. Not sure the south upper should be standing too.

That's fair mate. Ideally you want the back of the lower gwladys loons in the lower with safe standing and those who will follow in the upper.

I think being more exposed compared to goodison doesn't help either. I sat back of gwladys last season for one game and the stuff they were doing you couldn't get away with now. See those lads who were off their heads in that carabao cup game. They got banned from their supporters club.

I paid £50 for this view at Goodison. Brilliant memories of Goodison but we have an incredible stadium and when everyone finds their place it will take off. I’m sure the teething problems will be resolved.

lower gladys loons 😂

See Mickefc's post. It's a mind set change required, the club are not even promoting it as a standing area. That is leading to a lot pf people sitting and asking others around to sit. Now picture the situation where there is not supposedly hardcore supporters in the upper South.

I don't disagree with what you say as long as everyone bought in. I just doubt that many fans would.
Thats a separate issue to the riser though.
However I do agree with what youre saying about a shared mindset. That mindset, fans will lock into when they have a run of games where its rockin with everyone on their feet. There is lots of Park End types in there who reckon theyre boss blues cos they sit off all moody and boo. Its a fan ideology.

Lower Gwladys was like a separate stand to the Upper Gwladys, but we should be thinking of the entire South Stand to be one big Lower Gwladys Street with no Upper Gwladys if that makes sense.

So for me the back of GT4 equivalent should be at the very back of the South Stand.

Instead, in Lower Gwladys terms, we're putting the equivalent of the back of GT4 at the front of GT4, but they want to be getting upto mischief so want to be at the back.

Im sure there'll be a few Main Standers reading that thinking wtf are you on about!

Was thinking the other day that the derby is going to be the one to show what the place can hit when we are all motivated. Like you say it's whether we can get a result and then carry that forward.

If we had the full team out, we would have won at least one of those games and things would seem a bit rosier now.

7000k Sunderland fans had no problems at all making it sound loud. It's not a stadium design thing.

Moyes won 3 league games at Goodison out of 10 last season. This was with the crowd trying to make an effort to see the old girl out in style. I don't see why anyone thinks we would be doing better if we were still there.
Surely no one is suggesting that we were better off at Goodison, with far fewer fans and a library of an atmosphere most games.

Don’t know what you go till it’s gone.

I love the new stadium. I do hope they listen to supporters though especially for the beginning of next season.

I'm travelling to my first game at the new place for Leeds in two weeks. Can't wait. As we are on a downer and nit-picking, What I have noticed from TV is the South Lower always looks pretty sparse compared to other areas because it is a safe standing area. I think its because we use up less space when standing. I noticed the same with Spurs south stand. Hopefully the authorities will allow more than 1:1 in time.

While we were promised the big single tier stand, the riser was always part of it. I think, from a design perspective, it is needed to allow the upper tier of the west and east to uniformly meet the south stand upper. It was marketed as a single tier and it technically/almost is. Not as much of a 'marketing' stretch as Karen Brady telling West Ham fans the seats would be moved closer to the pitch, omitting to say that the vast majority of the seats would be located in the upper level which wasn't moving anywhere, while the lower level would be a few bleacher seats that would be completely disconnected from the main stands. I'd feel sorry for West Ham fans if they didn't boast that they are a bigger club than Everton every time they get promoted (see Leeds also).
