H Matt, welcome to the forum. You will need a Stadium 360+ membership to walk all the way round the stadium.

Post lots and buy a jigsaw.

I know the super riser is a discussion point, however does it really make a difference? The lower South isn't making a lot of noise anyhow, if it was all one big tier presumably it would still be the same. If the 3000 or so fans who go to the away games made up the bulk of the 5k safe standing then it would feel like a pretty intimidating home end.

We've heard stories of people being told to sit down and keep kids quiet, it's that along with the poor performances that are making us question the design.
Yes the riser makes a huge difference. We would have regularly had 14k fans on their feet roaring the team on. Sitting encourages passiveness.

I sit near the top and half the ones in front of me nearly all the way to the bottom sit down for most of the game.

See Mickefc's post. It's a mind set change required, the club are not even promoting it as a standing area. That is leading to a lot pf people sitting and asking others around to sit. Now picture the situation where there is not supposedly hardcore supporters in the upper South.

I don't disagree with what you say as long as everyone bought in. I just doubt that many fans would.

Hi Tom, why do you think the design of the stadium restricts the noise? When it was buzzing like at palace at home it was louder than I've ever heard goodison? I think the roof in the south stand compliments the atmosphere effectively.

The park end (when rarely) was going on it was significantly louder than the Gwladys St due to the lower roof and over lapping stand.

Spot on.

Sorry mate I messed up the reply quotes there.

I no longer want to sit in an area where everyone stands and has to sing all game so I of course didn't choose to sit in the stand that was meant to be the home end with safe standing.

There were a few people who used to sit in top balcony and Bullens who said they were moving there. I think a few of them may now regret that decision and may end up moving next season.

FYI I will of course join in when the whole ground is going and go mental with a match winner like against palace.

I love being behind the goal, I love standing at away games, but for 19 games a season at home, many of which I walk a round trip of 9 miles to/from the game, I didnt want to be standing so elected for South Upper. I sit down, I jump up when it gets close or exciting (not often granted) and I shout and sing as do many around me. Not sure the south upper should be standing too.
