New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I'm getting real sick and tired of morons on social media (it seems quite prevalent on Facebook) saying "the new ground is becoming detrimental to us!" As though our laughable home form was down to that. Some of our fans seem to go season to season with absolutely no recollection of what happened in the previous one. How dense do you have to be to think we are worse at home now then we where at Goodison? We won FIVE home league games last season. Five! We are currently on four in late Jan. I'm not going to pretend that's good but it does make a mockery out of the idea that the stadium move has a a negative impact at all on our form. If anything our profomnces at home have slightly improved, so does BMD get the credit for that?! JFC, some of our fans shouldn't be allowed outside.......🙄

Yes we were crap at goodison for years - hence the repeated relegation battles

I totally agree with this. We've been terrible at home for years. The stadium is not the reason we're crap at home, it's the limitations of the squad, the lack of pace etc.

However...

Do people think that this new stadium could ever be a DIFFICULT place for away teams in the same way that Goodison was during our better times? When we had strong teams and the crowd was right behind us, I think there was something about Goodison that made it actively difficult for away teams. Something about the tightness, the snarling fans three feet away. I'm worried this new stadium will be a place that away teams relish coming to. We may not see the top teams coming here and bricking it like they would at Goodison fairly regularly - even when we were otherwise garbage.

Teams used to brick it at the idea of comig to Goodison because we had a decent team that waa difficult for them to beat. Snarling Goodison isn't something that can't be replicated at the new place. It just requires a team that fans can actually get behind and a fanbase that's not bereft of hope. The only thing the club need to look into for the new place is the singing section. Way to often at this season, loads of people in different parts of the ground have tried getting different songs going. There's no unity to it. Time for the club to pinch its nose and sort the singing section out. Once we get one part of the ground rocking, the whole place will follow and it'll be a wall of noise that will intimidate anyone as much as Goodison did.

Simple answer is yes

As a crowd we need a motivator - either a front footed aggressive team to cheer on or some existential crisis / gross injustice.

Rather we get there with a good team!

Totally agree, people in the media keep peddling this idea of Goodison being a "fortress". You look at the last 3 seasons at Goodison, we won between 5 and 8 games at home, we have won 4 so far and have 7 games left to play at home. We will probably get between 5 and 8 home wins in total again this season. I am not saying its good, but people shouldn't be massively surprised.

There's probably hundreds of shots like both of those and both look magnificent.

Dont see many moaning about any of the pics or footage.
🤨

A load of gas and water storage tanks, a sewerage treatment plant and crumbling warehouses on the dock road is magnificent?

Beauty, it seems, is indeed in the eye of the beholder.

We're not projecting this stadium as promised. That's a fact.

Calm down everyone.

They probably didn’t realise the flags weren’t there to take home.

i don’t get how you could see that these flags have used for displays the past few years and not think theyre needed

they have unscrewed the flags from the poles

its theft and i hope theyre caught by the club

no ban if they return the flag and make a fairly decent donation to the cause

otherwise ban them till end of season
