Wasn't it Moshiri who pulled the plug on 777?
He wasn't cut out for it but I genuinely think he wanted it to work with Everton. He invested loads and has been more times to the stadium this season than current owners
If I remember correctly the Premier League said the deal could go through if 777 could prove they satisfied a few criteria. They obviously couldn’t, then the wheels started to fall off for them and the deadline for the deal passed. Don’t think it was Moshiri pulling the plug, more that the plug exploded.

Pickford and O'Brien putting their foot through the ball for wingers to chase it out of play or the striker to try and win a flick on to himself or the opposition GK is not expansive.

Actual movement, quick passing forward and intent to work the ball into the box is expansive.

Yes I remember now.l thanks. He was a little blind sided by them at first(don't think he was alone in that) but a close call nonetheless.
Thankfully it never happened anyway

Ok, one thing here about Moshiri and 777. He got 777 to basically fund us for about half a year with no strings attached as they were the "prospective buyers". Everyone knew they'd never pass the "fit and proper" test. It's a theory that he knew that as well but, as all his money was in Usmanov and he couldn't touch it, he went along with it because he needed SOMEONE to pay the bills at that time.

Again, that's putting a lot of merit into someone who doesn't deserve merit as we all saw time and time again. But the case could be made he did it intentionally and, basically, saved the club.
Saved the club from his own horrific management of it?

So I regularly see comments about these " specialists " who couldn't join last summer because contractual obligations elsewhere.

Does anyone actually know who's these people are and what they are accountable for ?
It was Nick ‘Worzel Gummage’ Cox from Utd and James Smith who joined late last year.

I'm genuinely grateful to TFG for saving the club , and make no mistake about it that's what they did. I shudder to think what would have happened if 777 had actually taken us over.

However I do think that TFG are very content to do the bare minimum to maintain PL status for Everton.

Seemingly their lack of ambition is matched by the manager.
They had to try and settle club down and give us a base to build on, and they done that. They may have been restricted to do more than they did.
They spent more on wages for a player than any previous chairman did, they also supported the recruitment team with big money for a teenager. They brought a manager in who looks up and not down. They have improved the club massively commercially, and have managed to bring in events we’ve never ever done before. They’ve done well so far, the next 12/18 months will show what their true long term intentions are.

Unfortunately for them we have an entitled fan base who have no sense of reality.
