I'd argue there's nothing to shout about, particularly trophies, there's a discussion about where our expectations are and should be. Food for thought.

I think you've got to give Moyes the best award. None of them won anything, but he clearly made the best use of very limited resources during his first tenure. He won't lace Carlo's boots as a manager, of course, but Carlo wasn't here for very long - why would he be when he had Champions Leagues to win. Carlo was my favourite, as much for what he represented - fleeting hope - as anything else.

It’s an awkward time to ask the question after 1 point in 3 but if you answer isn’t Moyes then you simply aren’t an Evertonian. For those of us old enough to of lived through the 90’s (apart from my favourite evertonian Joe Royle) for Moyes to do what he did with that Charlatan Kenwright as an owner, was truly remarkable. Years of 14th-17th placed finishes to pick us up and leave us a solid top 6 side, when all the teams above us were spending money like a pissed sailor and in truth some of those below us, is a feat rarely seen in the modern game.

Some will laugh, but I doubt they’ll be able to name another manager who progressed his club an average of 8 places over a long term period on such a low net spend.

Shame Martinez ruined it in 36 months. 24 when you consider his first 12 he had the luxury of a Moyes trained defence.

Got to say Moyes MK1 finally made us proud once again. No one can deny that. He's also done it again within 12 months. Not bad is it? Better managers on this forum though. Still yet to get their opportunity somehow. Martinez first season was awesome. The signing of Lukaku pivotal. Our best signing since kanchelskis. Still don't understand how it went so badly wrong.
