Will depend how good George is. If he’s a very good player, and a long term target, and we’ve essentially thrown the kitchen sink at him then I can accept not getting any competent fullback through the door. If he’s miles off it then it’s a dereliction that we’ve not bought a right back in.

Of course, all these criticisms can be reversed in retrospect. Maybe they will in a few months time.

However, as things stand this has been an ambitionless window by the owners.

The trick is in bringing it in and spending it. Do one half without the other and that's called incompetence.

Selling a player we're not playing for good cash is good. Not spending it on players to improve us is not. We're down a player and faith in the owners is weakened under those circumstances.
