Strangely, I'm reminded about the saying of the difference between a pessimist and an optimist.

A pessimist will always say 'this is terrible, it can't get any worse'

An optimistic will say 'oh yes it can'

I received a dividend payment of £22.82 for my share of dividends paid out after the sale of EFCW. Does that mean Roundhouse Capital have received just under £37m?

And I take it works like that? It's as simple as paying themselves them dividends?
Key context: This was not from operational profits but from the capital gain on the women's team transfer. Roundhouse Capital (owning 99.7% of Everton) received the vast majority of the dividend back (99.7%), making it largely a restructuring move that benefited the parent owners while providing a small payout to minority shareholders.

Yes, it creates an accounting benefit for the men's side. It's even possible that the dividend was paid in kind to the parent (no cash changes hands), but since there are other minority shareholders those would be paid in cash. I'm only speculating, but I don't think actual cash will be a problem with this group, what they need to continue to do is grow revenues to help with the PSR/SCR calculations upcoming.

Wasting money on mediocre signings is hopefully in the past.

Clubs do not want to sell their best players in January. Hopefully we get players in before the window closes but I think they will probably be loans.
