I developed big doubts after the last game at goodison . What a time to connect with the fans .
I don’t think they’re arsed about connecting with fans here or in Rome, tbh. Modern PL football club ownership will either be for the purpose of Saudi sportswashing or pure profit generation. TFG fall into the latter.

They’ll be further along in their plan for Roma than with us, so it makes sense the big guns spend more time there than they do here, especially as Roma seem to be having some tangible success over there.

I get that people want some kind of Jack Walker type who loves the club while being minted enough to compete with the big fellas but it’s not happening. We’ll just have to be content with being the slightly less attractive of a couple of brasses that Big Dan ruts away at periodically until he’s bored.

From a business point of view you need to at least pretend and make an effort with your customers in a customer based entertainment industry .

Not only does it reassure them that you are their long-term and you will give them a voice , it also allows your customers to know you . A bit like the owner of a restaurant being front of house every now and then, just feels more professional.

Love and romance has no place here but professionalism certainly does. So far ive only really got doubts .

The final game at one of the oldest stadiums in the country at a club they own who are also one of the founders. You need to be there .

But no roma had a cup game .

I get all the stuff about modern owners, it being a business, they are potentially only here to generate a return on their investment etc.

But I do find it hard to understand that you buy a football club, a founder member of the football league in England. The 8th most successful club in that country. In the season that they are leaving one of the most famous stadiums in world football. A stadium that epitomises the very fabric of the club that you have bought. And you choose not to attend a single game to see and sample what you now own.
