The circular design's a part of our history too mate.

I'm not sure why peeps keep on saying a circular design is 'too Chelsea' when a lot of good modern football crests are round, not just Chelski's, and the same can be alleged about using a shield, like 'too 'boro', or 'too Liverpool'.
:)

You can say what you want but it's definitely too Greenland.

I have just done the questionnaire on the OS. Can I vote for the crest thing even I don't live in the UK?

According the their website you can only vote if you've bought a ticket to a match in the last 10 years (when online records started). Your customer number gives you one vote. It says nothing about being in the UK so as long as you've been to a match (and have your customer number) you can vote.

I did but I bought those tickets outside Goodison (from some local lads), not from the OS so I can't vote then.

If you are talking about the 70's 80's badge then I beg to differ. It was the actual crets and wreaths that was in a circular cloth as that was the way badges were made for sewing on. The shield has always been part of it doesn't matter what shape a shield is a shield.

You can play around with the ingredients as much as you like but I reckon the problem is with the shield, especially when you accept the argument - which I do - that the logo has to be within a bordered shape. The shield forces it to look like some bottom heavy, toy town police Cop badge if you try to get too much in it. I appreciate its been unique to us but its not good; I'd favour the dreaded circle or a different shield.

Completely disagree, the shield is an historic part of the badge, something that's basically always been there. Funny how no one minded it on this:

To rubbish it and want a Chelsea style circle would be to rubbish nil satis, rubbish the wreaths, why not just forget the whole thing and create a new one from scratch? Of course no one would want that. The shield is as important as any of the other components of the Everton badge. We are not Chelsea, we have a history

Changing the badge from a shield to a circle won't change our history.

The whole reason people don't like the shield now is because it's impossible to fit all of the other necessary aspects into the badge without it looking stupid. If it's a choice between a circular badge which features NSNO, the tower and the wreaths, or a shield logo which looks awful it's a no-brainer.

Baby and bathwater RT. Like has been said and imo, IF we are going to change it, ditch the pretentious faux coat of arms stuff first, rather than anything else, for a more simplistic emblem :)
