Dave Watson, Kevin Ratcliffe? Neville isnt in there class

No he's not, but those are truly great captains, you cant expect to always have players like that in your team.

I'm not Nevilles biggest fan, but he's probably the best captain at the club at the moment, no one can argue that he has the experience so that commands respect.

Yobo, International Capt? Cahill, born leader?

Yobo is almost always the quietest on the pitch and while being a truly outstanding athlete, never really gives off the complete look of confidence.

What has Cahill done to be a born leader? He could do the job, but I think Neville does a better one. I rarely see Cahill leading the players on the field, telling them what to do and bucking them up.

You cant use that against Yobo when your talking about Neville in the same breath. Nigeria must think he has captain material about him

I don't really know what I was on about. But anyway Yobo is not Nigeria's captain. He was only captain for one game cos Kanu or someone was injured and got blasted by some former captain as a [Poor language removed] captain after they went out. Yobo is fine as he is and the whole thing of captains doesn't really matter anymore. Even if Neville wasn't captain he would probably do the same amount of talking he does now because it's almost impossible to get him to shut up. He's on to the media giving his opinion on every issue remotely connected to football or England or Everton so seems to like the sound of his own voice (or what it looks like written down anyway). I don't know what people are on about with Hibbert as he is probably the worst player we have. I sometimes think he cannot actually play football when watching him. He does try very hard I know and there's nothing wrong with his commitment but a player like him shouldn't even be playing League of Ireland Football (worst league I can think of) never mind playing for a top four Premier League team.

Hibbert is easily our best right full back as he can defend, his forward play needs a bit of work but he is getting better. Neville while in the side will always be the weak link of the team

Double Post

I think you will find you are wrong. Checked the website and he was said to be captain in these years:

Joseph Yobo (2001, 2003, 2004, 2005)

Also found this in a news story
"With Nwankwo Kanu injured for the majority of the tournament, Everton's Yobo took the captain's armband. However, Keshi was far from impressed with the way Yobo led his troops."

So he was captain in the past but now it would be Kanu as I said if he was fit and playing.

So you can go back and read the rest of my post now, thank you very much, since I have disproven your slanderous remarks.

Neville may not exude class all the time, but he certainly is a confident player, if you don’t think so then I feel we’re watching a different player.

That maybe the case, but he certainly doesnt have whats needed to captain us.

Do you mean as in his peformances? If so then his form of late has been very poor, but anyway, if you going on ability to play football and saying that someone should lead by example that way then you have to count our other class players like Arteta too.

I think he is over confident and full of his importance and that leads to him trying thinks his ability wont allow and thats 1 of his major faults. I disagree i think giving Yobo the captaincy will be the making of him, as for Cahill, he needs good service to show his worth, what with Arteta playing below his A game and Pienaar & Ossie out there has been nothing for Cahill to latch onto. Cahill is always 100% committed to the cause though

Maybe your right about Yobo and maybe your not. Its not really something we'll ever know until Moyes makes him captain, but I suppose one thing he does have in his favour that we can both agree on is that he's Moyes longest serving player and has said he'd spend the rest of his career here, so that is something that would surely have crossed Moyes mind.

But I think for now, Neville is firmly the captain and like it or not, he's only 30, in good condition and plays multiple positions, so will probably be our captain for a few years yet.

I doubt you've ever seen Hibbert play in that case. How could he possibly be "getting better"? Would hate to look back and watch the games before he was "getting better". At least Neville can cross the ball and I'm sure I saw him pass a ball to one of our players at some stage this year. All hibbert can do is hoof the ball forward every time he gets it. Neville at least is trying to pass and keep the ball on the ground where we can be most effective.

Been going the game 20 odd years mate so i think am qualified to comment on Everton players.
Hibbo is by far the best right back, is defending and tackling are great. Neville cant defend and his tackling is a disgrace. He is better at crossing but i would rather have a defender who can defend. In an ideal world both wont play but for now Hibbo is best of the 2
Neville just hits it into the stands most of his passes anyway

One thing you cant argue with is that Hibbo is a good tackler. Everyone knows his limitations with his passing, but I doubt any winger in the prem is happy going up against hibbo when its a one on one.

Good captain and scorer of fluke goals, [Poor language removed] at everything else. We need a quality right back!
