I agree the last maybe 2 or 3 games Pip aint been up to standards....when he's at the other end of the park.

Before these games I felt he didnt put a foot wrong, could cross the ball, tackle, pass and his all round game was solid - more so than Hibbert who, as mentioned, drifts inside too much.

Neville gets in good positions up the park, is always backing up whoever plays on the right (Arteta mainly) and passes the ball more than the big punt Hibbert tends to do. The only thing is does wrong is his final ball, which I'm sure Moyes is sorting out and I think Pip is too, and a couple of mis-placed passes.

In Defensive Mid I'm a bit unsure about. There's too much room for him to take up and he tends not to have a clue with players around him. Maybe I'm just going off the back of seeing Carsley and Neville together in the middle (against Chelsea) when they pretty much go for the same ball and leave huge gaps in the centre. But I wouldnt mind seeing him instead of Carsley to see what he can do with a full strength midfield.

Right back suits him, more simple for him. And what I'm shocked about is that he's trying to actually ball skills to beat players. He's not great at it but he doesnt loose the ball too much and we've had [Poor language removed] loads of clean sheets so far.

Oh he's a quality Captain IMO. Mobilises a team and he's great with the fans - sorted out a piss up with the Fans after the Carling Cup Chelsea game down south if I can remember

His lack of ability is there for all to see,his passing and distribution against Brann was woeful, but he wasn't alone in that respect, but DM sees him as our leader on the pitch, therefore, that's good enough for me...for now.

Hes a good player, a fairly good right back and a good captain, he just makes a few mistakes, but, to get everyone back on his side, need i remind you of his save against liverpool??

David Moyes is a good manager, he has sold players like beattie, naysmith, davies all the players that were useless in our team. He would not keep Neville in the team and as captain if he wasnt good.

Can't we agree that both of these players (Gerrard and Neville) are leaders, but in different ways. After all, Gerrard is an attacking midfielder, Neville is a defensive midfielder/defender.

Gerrard: runs around like Gravesen last time around at Everton, gets the ball, drives it forward, gets a lot of goals.

Neville: stands and shouts at other players, tells them where to be, who to cover, whether they've time on the ball or not, gives out advice and information.

Now to me, both of those players, both roles and both styles of play are almost completely different. Doesn't mean only one of them could possibly be a leader though, does it?

It's obvious, Gerrard is a leader in terms of getting the goals and getting the win, Neville is a leader in terms of stopping the opposition from scoring and stopping the loss. (y)

Spot on its like comparing black and white and you've done a good job on it Dude(y)(y)

he knows he wasnt at the races the other night. glad he is prepared to kick himself up the arse as well as others who arent performing.

That is the big plus with Nevile, his European experience, its unmatched in the club(y)

What leadership? His ability to point? Great leaders, lead from the front and show example. Neville is incapeable of doing either. And as for versatility, yes thats correct, he is awful in every position he plays

Neville doesn't play up front so he can hardly do that. He's living up to the great English leaders in the past by sitting at the back and telling people where to go. You can hardly expect him to do a William Wallace and start doing all the work himself because he would end up hurting himself probably.
