Edit: some very specifically and similarly worded leaks about this. Club clearly very keen to say he had admirers, he is happy to stay, and is more “ready” than some of those we were linked with. Quite an interesting turnaround.

The bit I find odd is that they're saying Patterson is happy to stay here to get minutes before the World Cup, yet he was literally just dropped at the first opportunity at the weekend.

I expect what they say in that statement and the truth are probably not the same thing. I think he’s been pushing to leave for a bit, we just don’t let him. That said there is nothing to be gained by saying to the press or fans that he’s unhappy and was trying to leave, not once you know he has to stay.
I don’t really get it though, we clearly don’t want to start him, it’s a bit [Poor language removed] to hold on to him and not let him go but then not give him minutes either.
