2025/26 Nathan Patterson

Abysmal management from Moyes, no reason at all for Patterson not to start - that Frankensteins monster defence with our two best CBs stuck at full back was hard to watch or understand.

Again, patto didn’t let us down one bit and made a difference coming on.

If he leaves then I hope he does well and stays fit, but if they manager is to be believed, and we cannot find a new RB after searching for over a year, it would be negligent to allow him to move.

Just play him Davey ffs.

O’Brien has had a poor season at right back. There’s no reason to be playing him there ahead of Patterson currently. Mitoma’s threat was always going to be his pace one on one which O’Brien struggles at anyway so I couldn’t see the logic in picking him aside from Moyes just sees him as an experienced player to get on the pitch as often as possible in any position. Same with Keane Tarkwoski Gueye Garner KDH.

It won’t work out here I dont think, but I still root for him when he plays. Don’t know why. Not even because we need him to do well. Just quite like seeing him do well, even if it’s just to get himself a half decent move.

It's because you're an Everton fan and therefore you want Everton players to do well when wearing the shirt.

That's 100% normal mate and is the way the majority feel and act. There's just a few wrong uns that pollute this thread that actively want him to fail, primarily due to religious allegiances which is pathetic really.

This is genuinely one of the most bizarre threads I’ve ever seen on a football forum. Patterson came on and contributed in a game where we snatched a last gasp equaliser - so late and so undeserved it felt like a win. Yet some so-called Evertonians are piling into his thread with negative vibes, sucking the joy out of what should be a good weekend to be a Blue.

Yawn, poor wumming today.

The negativity below posted before the ref even finished blowing the final whistle.

His crossing is atrocious, the only one that found a colleague was the deflected one to Keane.

For us non locals, can someone explain what is those religious issues i keep reading about Patterson?

It’s almost irrelevant here in the Liverpool area. I’m guessing the main offenders are catholic Celtic fans from Glasgow or Northern Ireland where religious sectarianism is a big thing. Patterson played for Rangers (Protestant).

Think it's his match fitness that is the problem. Moyes always drags him off after 60/70 minutes as he looks gassed. Either starts and subs him, or uses him as a sub.

The ideal is he gets to the point he can last 90 mins.
Played 116 mins in the cup against Sunderland. And played 90 vs Villa. Not sure that’s it.

70 mins is just when Moyes Watch beeps to remind him he has subs
