2025/26 Nathan Patterson

Switching tack David tsk tsk.

So now you’re questioning him because he doesn’t want to leave for a club that wants him and you’re questioning his decision making.

Your arguments are weak , every post you make on Patterson makes you look more ridiculous than the last one.
No, I doubt very much he's been in anyone's radar. That's my view.

The decision he has to makes also there though as legitimate criticism.

I'm not sure many have registered just how poor that comment about settling for "minutes" of football rather than leaving for much more game time at a club that apparently wants you. It's disgraceful for a professional footballer.

I'll bring @Eggs in to comment on that...

So you don’t know, but 1) no one would want him so these links are preposterous, but also 2) he should have gone and not want to fight for his place, making him a disgraceful professional because he’s not going to no clubs that don’t want him, despite several examples of players ‘not good enough for Everton’ playing in the Italian top flight, with clubs who did want them.

Correct me where I’m wrong.

Even if the interest was genuine you'd still have to have a player who's willing to leave.

He's just made the unbelievable statement that he'd rather fight "for minutes" with Everton rather than leave for first team starts at Bologna.

The feller is 'kin outrageous. No wonder no manager picks him other than when it's unavoidable.

Why are you tagging in someone to argue about the merits of settling for minutes of football who gave up playing before he made a career because he couldn't be arsed?

You're wrong if you dismiss that any player not getting game time here but who'd rather stay here than go out and get more football elsewhere is acting disgracefully as a professional footballer.

Likely isnt the long term answer and likely will still move on in summer, but for now, he has shown he brings more balance to the team and is a better option than a CB or our other RBs.

He's left a lot to be desired with the frequency of his injuries. Health, or the ability to stay on the pitch, can be considered a skill, just like pace, touch, strength in the air etc.

But now that he's healthy - give him a run of games. You can't say that he profiles as an "elite" player, but we looked vastly improved when he came on late at Brighton. We don't get that point without him, and if he started and played 90 at RB we probably get all three.

The thing that's most annoying about all managers, not just Moyes, is the irrational predisposition, in the face of compelling evidence, to never play certain guys, and always play certain other guys,
To be fair to Moyes we were desperate to give a contract extension to Gana,it's possible the contract included a clause that he had to be in the starting line up if fit.
