My 50kg weight loss challenge

@the golden visionary It appears that a good way for you to lose all that weight would be to take up reading @Joey66's medical journal, there'll be no time for food and by the time there is he'll have you tied up in knots about what you can and can't eat, you'll also have a newfound hatred for a nurse you don't know because she got a promotion without reading Joseph's notes.

Good luck mate. Can't fathom losing that much weight. The discipline is beyond me.
I find Christmas period is a worry if you want to enjoy yourself temptations are there , but you have to get straight back on with your normal diet after that period - its hard to do this, but essential to get back to normal day in day out back into you food routine ....

That length of period you mention is minuscule in the UK - My diabetic kidney specialist told me they are definitely easing up on them GLP1 in his clinic group drugs for diabetics - I was 15 stones no that obese - they certainly put me in hospital since reverting to Insulin a natural drug that my body is supposed to make I have no symptoms - 50 % of bad side effects is high - I got severe side effects - look 50 % of people may benefit from them good luck to them - but IMO & clinical people I talk to in the UK - early days plus the cost is still high to the NHS -

I ended up with many investigations -up & down, iron infusions I had lost that much blood from my stomach = not pleasant - 14 biopsies - not pleasant waiting for the results - every medic I saw blamed Ozempic & I was only on the lowest dose .... & it was that drug .....

For your stomach to hold food IMO is a unnatural way to lose weight - no one knows the long forecast of danger of this group of drugs if you take them for ever .....

It is good for reducing blood sugars but in my case not at the price I paid - I now also have a Free Style Libra 3 on the NHS - IMO far more beneficial on my bloods sugars as a computer I can control my input of food as it has alarms on it for high & low blood sugars & my blood sugar is the best its ever been since being prescribed- e.g. I am in total control daily naturally .... I have lost a stone in weight too.... without Ozempic my stomach & bowels are now normal ....

To add insult to injury the top nurse has been promoted IMO without reading my medical notes - nothing but a drug pusher ....

The top Diabetic renal Nurse & specialist I am with now is happy I am on the correct medicine ....
Can he/she prescribe sleeping pills 😂😂

Good luck mate. You inevitably get bombarded with lots of (sometimes contradictory) information/advice on this subject.

Hopefully whatever you are doing works for you and you get sustainable results.

Does anyone know how to accurately count a home cooked meal, lasagne for example. Do you do all the raw ingredients or is there a better way?

Now I'm just weighing the portion and looking online then adding 10% on to cover
Look forget the science - protein foods must be you aim & routine - many meals can be made with Eggs - also I found to stop drinking milk as it has fats & is high in Lactose eg sugar - I purchased no sugar Oat milk of Amazon in bulk - even my son uses the oat milk & he is fussy - it is nice in any drink or with any cereal....eat no more than 4 slices of bread per day eat little & often until your routine is normal - walking as an exercise etc Gently Bentley - getting bogged down with statistics may get to you .....

I even use lactose free butter from Asda - I never stand on the scales as you will start feeling better in yourself in a few months time you will start to benefit - you will be successful its just will power at first then a normal routine it will not feel like a diet at all ;)

I hate oat milk with a passion, I can only abide coconut milk.

Scales wise I've git a once a week policy, sunday morning first thing post poo.

Ive cut the bread down to 2 slices a day, I'm mainly eating them ready meals, high protein, low salt, low carbs, counted cals as they're easy to track.

Just getting in a routine mate

If you make the portion 2/3 of what you'd initially intended, then make up a small side salad (lettuce, tomato, red onion, carrot, cucumber, vinaigrette dressing (olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, black pepper)). [I'm a real pig for pasta, I love it.] It reduces the carbs, changes up the texture of what you're eating, and fresh F&V is the experts go to option for mealtimes. Minimal calories, leafy greens, etc. It's a mither but the left over salad can go in a chicken wrap with hot sauce tomorrow. Variety and avoiding misery.

canned tomato's - 60 cals
5% lean minced beef (500g) - 850 cals
oxo stock - 10 cals
diced onion, minced garlic - 70 cals
500g sheet lasagne - 1750 cals
low cal bechamel sauce - 440g jar = 1320 cals
cheese, cheddar, mozzarella & parmesan (1 cup total shredded) = 550 cals

total 4610 cals
/5 = 922 cals. + side salad ~ 100 cals. It's looking a main meal for the day.
