The bloke has talent, He is completely two footed, can be a leader, can tackle, fears nobody and is a much better passer than people give him credit for.

His problem is that he never seems to put it all together. It's no surprise to me that he is coming into good form after getting a prolonged run in a team. In the past he would come in for a game or two, get injured or dropped and then resurface months later. Its not a good situation for any footballer that.

He is the type of player (and we have a couple of them, Klaassen for example) who needs a completely clean slate when a new manager comes in as he does have ability and could thrive under the right type of management or system.

Exactly! It’s extremely rare to find defensive midfielder with an attacking flair as part of his natural game. Dribble, good passing variety and not afraid to run with the ball. It’s his maturity on the pitch that holds him back.
If we insist on playing Rooney, I believe Gana and besic will be perfect to form a balance partnership. I actually rate besic higher than Davies.

It baffles me what anyone sees in Besic. He shows glimpses of quality, directly followed by dumb, naive, lack of focus. He’s nowhere near consistent enough for EPL football. And can’t stay fit.

I get that but you can not create consistency if you don't get given consistency if that makes sense? He has only had a small run of games together (be it because of injury or being dropped etc) has played multiple positions (Full Back, Centre Mid, Centre Back) and has then been ditched for months before being randomly thrown in for a cup game.

He does so some stupid stuff but he is still young and can improve on that (looks like his is at Boro..)

Staying fit is an issue certainly, but he has had bad random injuries rather than reoccurring ones which I suppose is a good thing.

The leadership quality demonstrated by Capt Jags is going to be one very hard act to follow.

I would miss Jags no nonsense attitude, getting in the refs face, backing his team mates if it all goes off, bollocking team mates when they cock-up, all that fist pumping....

Keep up this mockery of Jagielka and I will two foot the pair of you into oblivion.
