....I like him, always have. Busy looking players can flatter because it doesn't mean they are effective but I think this lad is, it's the number of really well timed tackles that impressed me breaking up City attacks in key areas. Proper team player, always appears to be talking and encouraging team mates.

The look on Toures face after the tackle in the first half that put him on his arse !
Very clever brynot a basic player
His tackling, passing, retention, man marking is of a better standard IMO. He's not afraid to shoot on the edge of the box either. I don't think we've seen the best of him, a run of games and he will gain more confidence, we could have an awesome midfielder with a bit of everything to his game.
This sums it up well. It comes as no surprise to me that one of the few derbies where we have won the midfield battle since the mid 90's came when he was in Central midfield alongside McCarthy and Barry. I think having those 3 in midfield, particularly for physical games could be a really good option for us to have. They all offer something a bit different, and all relish the big games.
I think if we get those 3 on the pitch, with Barkley, Lukaku and Deulofeu as a front 3 we will dominate Liverpool in the final (if we both get there).
He was here last season, he's hardly played since then so don't say he's improved, he's just not been given a chance by Martinez.
He replaced Barry for 6 or 7 games last season and grew in every game, only to be dropped again once Barry was fit, and Barry was pants last season.
vs QPR, Besic and Barkley bossed the granny out of them, Barton actually patted him on the back after that tackle.
"I got this Leighton lid..."
I could see he was the best DM at this club after he played a couple of games, technically, he is way ahead of McCarthy.
Besics a more rounded player. McCarthys still got his uses thoughI love Besic but people forgetting how good James McCarthy is are being silly.
Besic isn't half as good at reading the game defensively. He definitely has more ability on the ball and going forward, but you know Everton fans, it's possible to have two very good but different players in the same position!
