I love him to be honest. His attitude and technical ability are impressive. I don't mind he is a bit positionally off. He is young and quite new to the central role.

Listen, we miss the attitude of a team with the likes of Cahill or Ferguson who give a crap and carry themselves in a certain way. This kid may not be a toffee but he has that attitude we need and bags of ability on top of that.

hmm...gonna vault myself here too. Still think this kid has something to bring to the team above and beyond what he does with the ball. He is like our special move in Street Fighter. HADOUKEN!!

never his man goat, but he would have not got drawn had someone else gone to aguero, and might have been closer to navas, thye lad has seriously piped down some bad park enders tonight, i love him way more than i should

On the replay he turns his head looking and maybe he didn't turn enough to see navas or underestimated his speed. While if blame has to be assigned maybe you could say Besic played it wrong, the fact of the matter is we gave up a goal to a brilliant individual play by Aguero. It happens to the best of teams.

One of the best descriptions I've read (don't remember where): He has surprising technical ability for someone who's job is to murder people.

While he does have his share of rash and hard challenges, a lot of people before did not give him enough credit for his pace and tackling ability.

Lost his man for their goal, lost the ball at least twice. A few nice turns and tackles don't make MOTM for me. Lukaku was brilliant.

You must be known for not liking him I'm assuming? Or being critic of his maybe..

Oh wait, ding dong! Sarcasm right?

Wasn't able to watch the game due to time difference and early start for me, and can't watch the damn highlights due to country restrictions - but am flying back tonight to blighty so will watch tomorrow.

Anyway, FWIW, last Summer I was doing a mini tour of eastern Europe, and had a few days in Budapest. Due to problems with a few thousand whoppers trying to get to Germany for the new year molesting party, rather than take the train to my next stop (Bratislava) I had to take a coach. Coach station was right by the new Ferencvaros stadium, so wandered over for a look. Decided to buy a top, and got talking to one of the guys in the shop. When he asked who I support he almost fainted when I said Everton. Long story short, they're delighted (genuinely!) he joined us, and confidently predict he'll develop into a top class player. Was also treated to a slap up lunch and a couple of beers before heading off.

....I like him, always have. Busy looking players can flatter because it doesn't mean they are effective but I think this lad is, it's the number of really well timed tackles that impressed me breaking up City attacks in key areas. Proper team player, always appears to be talking and encouraging team mates.

Haven't seen an Everton central midfielder look so good at both ends since Fellaini in his pomp. Who funnily enough also had a similarly dominant game against City.

He overhit a few passes like but you can see he's excellent on the ball, skilful, has vision and can hit a ball too (but doesn't take wasteful potshots). Then at the other end he is a fantastic tackler, is very quick and uses that to press well, plus he's a snide.

Proper Everton player. Just hope he gets the game time to keep improving and getting more comfortable with the team.

Spot on.

I'd rather he overhits a few ambitious passes than ponderously slow the play down, which is what he used to do.
