I don't know why football supporters, and honestly supporters in all sports, expect players to walk away from the money on their contract to make less money elsewhere. I know it happens sometimes where the guy would rather play and he takes a small cut to do that. But I don't get holding it against Besic or Bale or whoever that they want to earn all of the money that the contract says they can earn.
I guarantee most of you wouldn't walk away from a contract in your line of work that paid you a guaranteed, high end wage for a certain number of years just because the company stopped giving you work. Most everyone would ride it out, make their money, and see what they could get once the deal is over. Footballers are no different.
