Overall
Moyes did a good job for us. Not great, not bad, good.
He did a great job for the first 6 or 7 years I'd say when he had us challenging for the top 4 and in the Uefa Cup. The last 3 or 4 years though were average - sh*te. Finishing 6th, 7th or 8th, not winning any trophies and losing the same games every season (e.g. the derbies, the Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal games) made it turn very stale. That and his attitude. He strutted around the club as if he owned it and didn't give a toss what us supporters thought. Playing the same dire players and the same negative tactics, it really put people off.
When he left there was a general panic among many because there's a generation of Evertonians who only knew
Moyes' Everton and just couldn't imagine life without him. They half-believed all the rubbish the media had been spewing for years about how we'd fall apart without him. Look how wrong that's been proven.
I don't blame him for going, he was here for 11 years which is unheard of in modern football and had to put up with a lot of crap during that time behind the scenes, he pretty much deserved the chance of a big break like the United job. The way he conducted himself though in the summer was terrible after everything he'd said about other clubs and their transfer policies in previous years. He completely disrespected the fans, his ex-players and the chairman with such derisory offers that he'd have laughed his t*ts off at if he were still Everton manager. Tapping up our backroom staff after being told he was getting the job by SAF wasn't a classy thing to do either.
In closing, Moyes has brought all the stick he's getting onto himself. He's completely p*ssed on Everton after everything we did for him. Who was Moyes before Everton? Everton were a big club before Moyes, even if we were in a state. We're still a big club now and we'll be a big club when he's 6 feet under. The only thing disgraceful about the whole thing is the fact he has the nerve to think Everton were nobody before him and he somehow made us famous.
