Moyes Watch @ Real Sociedad

I get what you mean with regards to his pondering, but in the same breath it appears Martinez did a fair bit of pondering himself with the Yarmalenko deal in the summer. Turns out when you're completely broke and the media keep linking you with quality players you are deemed quite the indecisive manager! Truth is you'd love to sign them, but are unwilling to sacrifice a top player to make the deal happen.

There was no pondering, Martinez knew exactly what he wanted, the board just never backed him up.

I can only imagine the board strung him along saying they did have the money when deep down they knew they only had money once Stones was gone.

Not right, it was the Kiev owner who naused up that deal from being completed as he decided, late in the day, that he wanted Yarmolenko to stay and spearhead their CL campaign.

I think that was quite convenient for that to happen, it certainly suited us a lot.

At least we now know we can all relax as there will be £17 million big ones waiting for us to spend before sales in January.

Villa are a good job waiting to happen to be honest. they have some decent players there who are being horribly managed currently. A few of their signings could have made our squad at least so if they hired moyes and he brought a couple of defenders in to solidify them up then perhaps moyes has the perfect made job again.

Villa are roughly where we were back in 2002

Moyes could walk in there, right the ship and get them in the top half again

Convenient if you think/believe the board of Everton didn't want it to happen
Damned inconvenient if you think/believe the club had the deal all bar buttoned down and the Kiev guvnor changed his mind, for understandable reasons.
I'm in the damned inconvenient corner waiting for Kiev to be eliminated from the CL.

agreed

I can't see him going to Villa just yet tbh.

If he harbours ambitions of getting a 'big' job again as he surely does, he'll have to have a good go at rebuilding Real Sociedad, else his time in Spain will be seen as a 'failure' following on from his time at United.

Whereas if he's successful in Spain, he can come back to England and point to his time there which will improve his chances of snagging that big job, as he can point to success with Everton and Sociedad and being slightly out of his depth at United which he's learnt from e.t.c.

Don't think he'll come back just yet.

I hope you are right mate.

I was told about this very early in the deal and posted so on the Everton forum before it became common knowledge.

I was also told that it was virtually a done deal at the point and Everton were acting as if it was a done deal as well so it did seem like they pulled the plug although I feel as though they stopped our number 1 target coming so so we then pulled the plug on Stones going. I reckon if Yarmalenko had came, Stones would have gone.

The way we conducted ourselves, and have spoken since does give the impression we are going to have another go in January and Yarmalenko did seem keen to come here judging by his actions so you never know. If we're in a good position come January, and it looks like we should be, then it should also help although I can't help feel we've missed our chance.

Anyway.... Moyes.....................

I don't want anyone coming at Everton mate. We sh*t ourselves when Barnsley do.

Anyway, I have ingrained hatred for teams like Villa and Newcastle who somehow claim to be our equal. Clowns. The lot of them.

Villa, in some ways are our equal. They're one of the 7 never to be out of the prem. In that regard, they're very much our rival, and I'd love it if they went down to make it 6 left standing.

Hell, in an ideal world, at some point in the future, Everton will be last 'man' standing...... Yeah, won't be holding my breath for that like.
