Moyes Watch @ Real Sociedad

Villa are a good job waiting to happen to be honest. they have some decent players there who are being horribly managed currently. A few of their signings could have made our squad at least so if they hired moyes and he brought a couple of defenders in to solidify them up then perhaps moyes has the perfect made job again.

I think he'd probably do a decent job there to be honest as regards to saving them , his pondering is unlikely to disappear so couldn't resist a poor attempt at humour .
I get what you mean with regards to his pondering, but in the same breath it appears Martinez did a fair bit of pondering himself with the Yarmalenko deal in the summer. Turns out when you're completely broke and the media keep linking you with quality players you are deemed quite the indecisive manager! Truth is you'd love to sign them, but are unwilling to sacrifice a top player to make the deal happen.

Aye definitely. A great job in waiting imo.

He doesn't need megabucks. It's whether he can be arsed going in it for the long term, as it's not going to turn him into a top manager again over night.

He'll probably need 3 - 5 years to turn them around and get them top 8 or so.

I genuinely think he had his perfect job , for him at least . Some people just fit at places and afterwards it's downhill , like walker at Norwich or hopefully Klopp at Dortmund .

Moyes wasn't too different at man united though when he had fortunes to spend hence the Felliani debacle with the clause . I think money played a part in his indecision with us but I also think his character did as well .

Well yeah, i agree on that. He isn't going to get better than us for just ability to do whatever he wants without concequence. It is this that worries me that one day he will be back ala kendall! It also makes me wonder if Moyes could have a little bit of money over the last 4 years like martinez has now, would he have improved or was he stagnating either way?

Moyes's biggest problem now is that he needs to get his rep back and bar turning sociedad into european contenders he isnt having much luck. Any prem club will jump at getting him though to be fair, look at allardice, never any hesitation to sign him up!

It's things like this. Which Villa players would make our squad? And please don't say Carles Effing Gil.

there is a difference between squad and team mate.

Squad means they can come in and do a job for us when needed. Kone isnt a first team starter, but a good squad player, naismith isnt a first team starter by right, but as a squad memeber he can score important goals, oviedo isnt better than baines, but he can perform when asked to etc

So yeah, they do have some players who could do a job for us, im not going to list them all to try and prove a point as unless they pull a blue shirt on then its not definitive.

at the very least- Greleash, Guzan, Ayew, Traore.

Some of their new signings havent heard of before so wouldn't even suggest them. But greleash clearly, guzan is a decent keeper , Ayew is a decent winger, Traore was linked with us all summer

He is NOT the Moysiah
He's a very naughty boy

Bristol City fans thought he WAS the Moysiah at Wembley 86/87 Freight Trophy Final versus Mansfield

Good chance I am in that photo believe it or not. A bit blurred, but I was behind and to the left of a banner that day. Obvs didnt know what it said though!

football manager doesnt count mate.

Name one of them that couldnt play back up in our squad

Brad freakin' Guzan is an absolute horror of a keeper these days. Jordan Ayew has been awful. We were never in for Traore. And Grealish has played less than 30 games in the top flight, but I concede seems promising. Anyone who picks England over Ireland is alright in my book.

So guzan couldnt be a back up any capacity?

Aweyu has always been a decent prospect, think you need to give him more than what, 8 games in england before you write him off.

Traore was getting good reviews last year albiet not the finished article (shockingly at his age) so no different to us signing del 2 years ago and we all wanted him back. Not comparing to del, simply talking about them being prospects.

Again i am not talking about them being first choice or better than our first choice, simply that if howard, or lennon/mirallas/del got injured that these players could be as good as osman/kone/Mcgeady/hibbert/browning/Robles/oviedo as back ups.
