Moyes Watch @ Real Sociedad

...it's ego and ambition that drives these blokes on, that's why he left for United and that's why he had an ambition to coach abroad. I don't think he'll be in a hurry to take another job but he might have an itch to scratch towards the end of the season if a club near the bottom see him as a possible saviour.

I'll always be a bit disappointed by Moyes (maybe it was Woodward?) in his Baines and Felliani low-ball bid after Bill did right by him and we gave him a good sendoff. But it's pathetic how Moyes has become a joke figure. LvG has hardly done any better at United and he's spent loads (and poorly).

You can tell how much someone knows about football by their opinion on Beckham - those that say he was only good at selling shirts clearly haven't got a clue or have fallen for the mainstream view that is ignorant of Beckham's consistency from 97-05. Likewise with Moyes.

Moyes did a hell of a lot with little money and improved a lot from the days of Walter Smith and Gazza and Ginola - honestly that wasn't an 'Everton' team - it was like a Newcastle or Tottenham team of old mercaneries. Since Moyes left us the PL clubs are flush with unprecedented levels of TV cash that means they can withstand the bids from the Sky Top 4 a la Stones etc. We've the makings of a good young side and I like some of Robertos signings but Moyes left a good legacy at Everton and did well for us generally. I'm not fully convinced by Roberto and United fans shouldn't be by LvG.

That may be true, but we never ever would have won anything under Moyes - he either didn't have the balls to go for it when needed or didn't have the nous to realise when to go for it. Also, he never understood us or the club, never referred to the club as 'us', always as 'Everton'. His lack of understanding of our club was never more apparent than when he effectively threw the Derby, and that's when I was done with him. 11 years but still an outsider.

I don't hate the man, granted his actions after leaving us hacked me off but being given the boot after a trouncing at Goodison erased that.
I think Everton and Moyes were the right manager and club at the right time. We and him got lucky as he did leave us in a better condition than he found it, he just lacked the ability to take us to the next level. His next move should be to go into the championship and take a club up to rebuild his reputation.

Moyes has been found out in his time away from Everton: a clueless duffer unsuited to the modern game. He's fallen on his face and is a laughing stock. He doesn't even have the consolation of being well thought of at the one club he had any longevity with.

One more fall from grace at his next club and he'll be in the Paul Jewell/Phil Brown category. I can see that happening too.
