Moyes Watch @ Real Sociedad

Not that I want it to happen, and of course the circumstance could never come about, but what excuse would you come out with to explain away if Moyes took a lower prem team like Swansea or Newcastle and finished ahead of us at some point in the next few seasons? What mental acrobatics would occur? What would happen if Rodgers also was back in the league and also finished ahead of us?
Let's take time to reflect: he left Everton after 11 years, never having won a sausage; he takes over at United, inheriting a team that won the PL trophy by 11 points, and destroys them; then he goes abroad and transforms a relegation form outfit into...erm, a relegation form outfit.

...and your asking me to do mental acrobatics concerning his future success!

Lol.

I'll always be a bit disappointed by Moyes (maybe it was Woodward?) in his Baines and Felliani low-ball bid after Bill did right by him and we gave him a good sendoff. But it's pathetic how Moyes has become a joke figure. LvG has hardly done any better at United and he's spent loads (and poorly).

You can tell how much someone knows about football by their opinion on Beckham - those that say he was only good at selling shirts clearly haven't got a clue or have fallen for the mainstream view that is ignorant of Beckham's consistency from 97-05. Likewise with Moyes.

Moyes did a hell of a lot with little money and improved a lot from the days of Walter Smith and Gazza and Ginola - honestly that wasn't an 'Everton' team - it was like a Newcastle or Tottenham team of old mercaneries. Since Moyes left us the PL clubs are flush with unprecedented levels of TV cash that means they can withstand the bids from the Sky Top 4 a la Stones etc. We've the makings of a good young side and I like some of Robertos signings but Moyes left a good legacy at Everton and did well for us generally. I'm not fully convinced by Roberto and United fans shouldn't be by LvG.

The annoying thing is that.. imagine that he did not leave us and was still in charge. 2 wins from 11 and he would still have been under no pressure at all for his job. It's like he was untouchable at Everton, and he really shouldn't have been.
From what I remember of him he used to have bad runs followed by a good run followed by a bad run in most of his seasons here. There was a pattern.

He'll do well for a lower league side looking to move up and maybe solidify themselves in the Premiership. Although it's much different now to what it was when he first came to Everton, so how long he'll last is anyone's guess.

What next for him? Hmmm. Thought Villa would be ideal for him but that ship has sailed. Can't and don't feel sorry for him. Lost my respect when he stayed on as our Manager for last couple of games, took all the plaudits at West Ham game then tried to take Baines etc. Had he left straight away I might have applauded him on his first game back as a visiting manager. But, he stayed on. A fiasco. He was wearing our club training tops doing press conferences when he'd already agreed to be Man Utd boss. It stuck in my throat.
