Moyes vs Martinez: Pounds vs Points

Bottom line is that in any sport, in any league, come 10 years or so, if you haven't won anything, it is probably time to make a change. The same s--t over and over again only works if it is winning trophies. Otherwise, it gets old and stale real quick.

without any comment on his ability as a manager, im starting to think moyes isnt much of a 'people person'

Well I know when Bobby Martinez was appointed manager at E F C he introduced himself to any person he came into contact with in the confines of Everton., where as Moyes only ever spoke to the playing staff in all the time he was there, so yes he wasn't much of a people's person.

No matter how you analyse it if you're managing a team that has one of the lowest spending opportunities (Wigan) sooner or later the inequalities in PL Finances were going to catch up with you - just like it did with every other smaller team (with lower attendances and lower income streams) that has spent time in the top level and had periods of (relative) success: Ipswich, Coventry, Southampton, Blackburn (once the money ran out), Wimbledon etc. Sooner or later the inevitable is going to happen. It's great credit that Wigan hung around so long.

Thought it was well known that Moyes wasn't a people person like. Remember a couple of years ago hearing things just that he has little to no contact out of "work" with the players.

On the subject of Martinez, ask any Wigan fan, they will tell you that they were punching above their weight for 3/4 years before they went down and they still see Martinez in high regard for them winning the FA Cup.

Fellaini on the bench for United today...after Little Ginger Nuts comments that Felli 'wasn't match fit when we signed him' Really?

Makes sense to me tbh. For Martinez and his passing, controlled football, slower tempo, Fellaini was match fit.

To charge round like a [Poor language removed] for 90 minutes with zero control of the football - he isnt

I think so.

That style of play will go down well at United.

I am thoroughly enjoying watching that ginger bollox squirm and at the same time i'm enjoying watching everton continue to progress. It seems martinez has taken up the mantle of his predecessor a little easier that moyes has despite inheriting the champions.

It's neither here nor there who is better as its relatively impossible to compare on any level but I think martinez is having an easier time than moyes is at utd.
