Moyes 'The ungrateful irritant'

"I'm not an emotional person," he said. "I'd rather get on with the game."

"United is my team now and all my concentration has been on them."

"I don't have time to look at Everton results or how they are doing. My own players and my own club is what interests me."

Nice one Moyes lad.

Laughed at that.

If the more odious elements of his character hasn't been exposed so brutally (by the man himself) then id have far more respect for him. He's been **** to us since he's left, in every respect.

If he's not an emotional man and doesn't care about Everton anymore, then he surely wouldn't care about all the abuse he's in for.

I don't know if it's just me but I always felt the last few years of Moyes' tenure had a strained relationship with fans even in good moments. His first few years he was always so complimentary of our support and the effect it would have on the team, how it was what kept this club going etc. I always think back to that villa game in 06/07 maybe?? It was that sickener when young went up the other end to make it 3-2 in last minute. I dont remember the exact details but at 2-1 down he seemed to be getting grief over something then lescott equalised and he threw his coat off in this volatile action to the fans which at the time seemed passionate and vilified till seconds later...

I think these moments of frustration got more and more as the years went by and the club stagnated along with our play a lot of the time and I always felt the crowd reactions got under his skin a wee bit. If you look at his words from the last few years he speaks of his enormous respect for the players foremost, the chairman second and always mentions us the fans last. Maybe I'm just on one here but I genuinely believe over time he grew distant from us and his love/respect towards the club stemmed from the players and bill. I think this is why he's spoken with some disregard at times, because ultimately it doesnt wind up the players (they're not arsed) nor does it wind up his bezzie, bill. It hurts us and quite frankly I dont think he's that bothered.

I think what would get him more tomorrow would be to see a team of 'his players' turn up and outplay him for their new manager. I doubt very much whatever reception we give him means a jot to him.

I don't think that Moyes has insulted our club, but I think that he has insulted our current manager. He has dismissed any changes to the culture of football at the club that Martinez has made, essentially implying that all Martinez has managed to do was continue what Moyes was doing with Moyes's squad.

Now obviously Moyes deserves immense credit for bringing in the players he did, but to look at what Martinez is doing as simply "keeping it going" is ludicrous.

Then again, like others have said here, he's speaking to different fans now. I'm not really angry about this quote, he complimented our squad, even if he only did so by complimenting himself, and he just makes himself look a little ridiculous by acting as though Martinez hasn't changed anything for the better at the club.

The gesture to the fans in April against City when jelavic scored, as if he was proving a point after all the abuse he got after the Wigan game. He really didn't get it, thinking beating a top 4 club made up for it and that it made our reaction to that horrible game wrong somehow.

I'm just gonna be happy to see him trudging back down into the rooms with his tail between his legs having witnessed Bobby being able to do, at first attempt, what he couldn't... Win at OT. That will make my day here in Australia tomorrow morning!

Probably some truth to that. Man alive will he be in for it once patience with his stone age football wears out with the utd fans.
