His job is done this season. Handful of wins and a few draws and we are easily mid or just below mid table. That's what the ask would have been anything more that's a brucey bonus. So he's not getting sacked.

There's a load of negatives from our perspective no cups to look forward toz neg football and no PlanB. Theyll give him to the end of Dec and see where we are that's a Jan window and a summer window. Issue is... He's never been good whens he's had money to spend.

He's done a job till now and I'm thankful that storm is now a light wind. But that is it, still papering over the years of just delusional people running the club

Longer odds than Pep. Going nowhere.

Clearly we’ll get all the missing players back - hopefully with some reinforcements before the end of the window - and be much restored.

Not the long-term answer, but never was. Said it start of the season tho, if we somehow sneak into the Euro spots, imagine there is no way he’s getting punted.

Wait until the end of the season and assess then.
Does that not worry you that we might sneak into europe with him and this squad + a couple of signings . It frightens the life out of me if you remember his performances with us in Europe .

Hogwash.
Did Tuchel and Flick move into international management because “they were crap”? Did Barca take Flick because international management was for has-beens?
The last time we saw imaginative, entertaining football here was under Martinez. He may well have ultimately failed with Belgium by not getting them over the line against the very best opposition, but another great footballing nation entrusted him straight away.

Martinez is also more successful than Moyes in this country.

We will, undoubtedly pick up when players are back and in general Moyes teams fair better in the second half of the season, but that isn’t the point. Quite simply as a Club we cannot afford to waste the momentum the new ownership and new stadium has provided by standing still with a ‘steady pair of hands’ at the wheel. We have to try and make ground quickly to even have a hope of keeping up with the pace of modern football.
Shake his hand and book him a taxi for the end of May.

Our football has for the large part been turgid for most of the season, even when at full strength. We're far too slow on and off the ball. Watch nearly every other team in the league, and see how easily they receive and give the ball, for 90 minutes, while we're blowing after 30 minutes. The whole coaching set up doesn't appear to have evolved at all, and that's a huge problem.

Lots of short term memory loss. Having money does not equate to being fine. Spurs, Palace and Forest all have better squads and are below us. 2 of which have managers people want/wanted for us. Chelsea who have spent more than a country are 2 points above us. We are only 4 points off 6th.

Moyes can be infuriating but we are a hell of a lot better off, let the man cook, keep laying the foundations and then see who is out there in a couple of years. Changing managers is not a silver bullet that is guaranteed to work out.
And keep watching this ? I am really thinking of watching on demand way after the match has finished to select the bits worth a watch ,I nearly said the good bits . I realise we should have some players back soon but he will still play the same way . How can you coach the tactics he uses ? kick it up front for them to head back or mess around at the back until we tie ourselves in knots ,can I ask why do most other teams look as though they are much more comfortable on the ball ?
The law of averages says some of ours must be that good but we never see it -a couple of games this season yes but many we have been lucky to get the points we have .If you imagine they are any other team in the league you would laugh at us the supporters putting up with this tripe .
Nil Satis Nisi Optimum ask Moyes what that means and I bet he will blush .
I do understand the constraints Moshiri left but the buys this year go to prove he has lost it KDH and possibly Adam Aznou aside they are abject failure .

I thought we'd lose yesterday due to the paper thin squad and not Moyes. Ridiculous knee jerking on here. If we start underpreforming when we have players back then I might reevaluate things. But at the moment it would be daft to sack him.
We were underperforming ,how many games have we played well ? How many have we been the pits ? This is a weird season for most but we are not far above the drop zone and Wolves have now picked up .

Funny how he performs better in the 2nd half the season, when we’re out of both cups and under no pressure

We just got dominated at home by a team that was put together in the summer and from the Championship.

Which had a wage bill last season of 30 million.
I think dominated is a bit of a stretch.

They are one of the teams that spent more than us as well. We should be beating them, but I imagine missing the majority of our players who actually have real value, impacted that.

As an aside, the total purchase value of our squad is 13th in the league. And we are currently 12th. So could be suggested Moyes is currently slightly overachieving.

Sunderland’s team yesterday, and for most of the season, had I think 2 players with premier league experience. According to Moyes players have to have premier league experience before they can be trusted.
Wolves came here on Wednesday with a massively inexperienced squad that have been rock -bottom all season. Moyes bemoans the fact that the bench is occupied by youngsters…how motivating for then must that be.
Brentford came here last Sunday with a squad that had lost its entire forward line and its manager. Have we heard any moans from Keith Andrew’s?

All three of them absolutely controlled that little round thing so much better than us. All three passed the ball better than us, kept possession better than us, were fitter than us and looked much better coached than us in all aspects of the game.

My biggest gripe is why can an Everton team not do the very basics like keep possession and pass to a teammate. They are all professional footballers so they must be exceptionally good to have reached that level.

The only logical answer for me at the minute is coaching.

Calling for Moyes to go feels pretty knee jerk right now. Things aren't great at the moment, but there are virtually no managers who would get a team this threadbare right now to perform- just look at who was on the pitch yesterday and how many minutes they have played in the last couple of weeks.

In my mind this season was always going to be a transitional one- going away from being a struggling team and adjusting to a new stadium. Most the summer signings are younger and will need 12-18 months to adapt (Barry, Dibling, Aznou, Rohl) before we can fully judge them.

While it would be great to qualify for Europe this season I would go so far as to say the last few weeks have proven why we aren't ready for it yet- the squad isn't there yet.

You hit the nail on the head ,some are not used to us being really good so Moyes then stands out ,in reality he is and always has been an also ran . OK I know he won a cup but that was a freak as the rest of his mediocre history will tell .
If he was 30's and doing what he is now I would be behind him but he isn't and is still doing the things he always has ,tactically unaware mid match and pig headed about team selection.
How long did he keep Osman in the team ,the guy was an absolute expert at being in the wrong place at the right time ,the fact he pumped so many games into his career shows he wouldn't cut it at any big team .

Ive got to be smart to not re-write history myself.

Did a fantastic job at building a squad on a shoestring. By far the best side I ever remember in my life time.

But that should be a measure to gauge his success.

Baines, Lescott, Jagielka, Arteta, Pienaar, Howard, Yakubu... it should have won trophies, yet never.

1 Trophy in 25 years of top flight management. A trophy id jump at, but half on here wont scoff at.

In his time in charge...

Birmingham City
Wigan Athletic
Cardiff City (from the second tier)
Middlesbrough
Portsmouth

Made more finals than we did. We fluffed our lines more often than not. But I think it was more or less forced upon us that it was "good times".

Still think thats what made the fans angry, and its never changed. Goodison ended toxic and BMD has carried on.

Im not pro-Moyes, can appreciate the good, but also fully aware he isnt what we need.

We were 5th playing 4th with a chance to go into the champions leagues spots about a month ago. I didn't think it would last but at the time we certainly weren't underperforming overall (the odd result aside). There is 0 chance we will get relegated this season.
