Long term I want more than that of course. But after the Moshiri years, I have no interest in trying to rush in without a stable base. Give Moyes some time to build that, then we can hand it off to a manager who doesn't have the same glass ceiling he does. That time isn't now though, its at the end of this season or next.

In 1-2 months time we will have NDiaye, KDH and Branthwaite all fit and firing, and we will be in a much more positive place.
Normally that would make sense Sam but the issue is recruitment and the players Moyes will want aren't going to marry with the players our recruitment want as we saw over the summer so we'll not be building anything tangible and instead just keep plodding on with the younger players not being trusted by Moyes and other clubs making progressive improvements so we'll end up further behind then we are now

Playing players in the wrong position- We have barely had 11 players available to us through this run- its not a case of them being out of position, just playing people wherever he can to fill out a formation. I don't love the Obrien at RB thing, but that is the only real sticking point for players being out of position. Yesterday (and the last 3 since forest) we looked like a tired team playing against a fresher opposition. They didn't play well but they ran themselves into the ground for him.

Moyes has literally said he is aiming for europe this season, he is leagues ahead of Dyche. I am not some massive Moyes fan but if you take the best defender, DM, AM and winger out of any team in this league they are going to struggle. Add in all the depth missing right now from AFCON, suspensions and other injuries and its not something the manager can really fix right away, other than trying to be compact and grind out results the best you can.
O’Brien out of position as you say, also he’s played a box to box midfielder at number 10 for 80% of his games and when he was forced to play him deeper he was better shock horror, but Moyes will play KDH as 10 again when he’s fit.
McNeil on the right is scandalous and doesn’t work yet he’s done it about 5 times and McNeil finished there yesterday, he’s not a great left winger, but that’s the only position he can play imo, but yesterday he had him as the 10 and Harrison Armstrong on the left. It blows my mind. Not once this season have we have an 11 in their right positions.

There’s not a chance we get Europe, because he sits back hoping to not concede, maybe nick a goal and defend it out, that’s not a recipe for success in 2026. We concede first and we rarely win the only one was palace and we got very lucky as they dominated for an hour. Yesterday after Sunderland scored we fell apart for the last 15mins of the first half and but for Pickford the game would have been over. Sunderland got battered 3-0 in midweek, they ain’t some great side, but Moyes made them look good with his negative tactics, just like wolves and Brentford. The football is so boring, I can’t even be arsed watching that much its more of a chore

This is just getting silly…

So instead of just reiterating the obvious result uplift of having Moyes as manager, instead I’m going to ask another question:

When has this tactic of knee-jerk manager changes ever worked long-term for Everton?

Wanting Moyes gone is insane considering where we was before he came in. Yeah we are out the cups it’s January an that’s not good enough but when was the last time we all felt we wasn’t in a relegation fight in January. apart from this season first time I can be relaxed in years.

I think he’s hamstrung by his squad but he’s has a part in making it . Aznou not looking crap yesterday hasn’t helped him but my issue was failing to act when it was obvious wolves were going to score , I was furious .

So I’ll agree chopping and changing has been crap but so is sticking by underperforming/failing managers . I’m not actively advocating him going but I certainly want to see more

Move on now, Moyes is just another Dyche or Fat Sam but he comes with Bluetooth
That did raise a smile and a laugh (something I have not done for a while). I did not want Moyes back and I simply do not want him here now, the style of play especially in the last 3 matches is mind numbing. Sidewards, sidewards, backwards, backwards, lump the ball up to the striker and lose it etc etc etc

Hes not without his faults but we are where we should expect to be all things considered and to want him gone is ludicrous considering overall how we have performed particularly when he has had players available.

I would still say he has done a good job. Just cant see why he has persisted with o brien at right back for so long

Perhaps.. I have no detail on the reasons behind not playing this or that player, I assume we have “logical reasons” behind the decisions. I’d be interested to see some figures on success of signings and how they compare to other clubs.

Yes we need to make changes… Yes we need to react quicker..

All of these things would happen under any manager.. Facts are that Everton are for the first time in recent memory safe from relegation and in touching distance of a decent finish…This is actually very very good.

Moyes has excellent stats compared to ALL of our other managers in at least a decade.

Not sure about that, Spurs' expectation of where they should finish is surely higher than ours (although you may well argue it's higher than they are actually able to achieve).
off topic i know, but two consecutive bottom half finishes regardless of being a scab I think Sky need to reevaluate their claim to the scab 6 cartel.

Maybe because Aznou came on against tiring players it enabled him to look decent. Do you really think the same performance would be seen from him had he started at home to brentford on the wing and been marked out of the game by 2 players. I think not.

He ran around a lot, but he seems a bit raw somehow - also it was never a pen to be fair.
