Moyes says Europe is ON

There's a contradiction at the heart of Moyes regardless of what he says from one minute to the next. He says he has ambition (still...apparently) but accepts having to sell-to-buy year in, year out. Sorry, but an ambitious manager draws the line after a while and says "enough is enough: you want success - you get me the money to do the job properly" . He wont, though, because he's hand in glove with the board in managaing the decline (or certainly stagnation) of this football club. He's well rewarded for doing that so it's no real suprise he carries that task out.

"We can finish 10th/9th/8th/7th/6th...". That's just noise. I barely care what this glove puppet says anymore. It's just a joke hearing the word 'ambition' from him...he's taking the piss like the rest of the management of that club. I used to admire him, now he's just another problem that needs dealing with.

He may be contradicting himself, but this is the Moyes I want back, the fighting spirit, the will to win, take no prisoners attitude he once had. Let's hope its back?

Just a coincidence he comes out with this just a few days after being criticised for previous comments suggesting he is happy with a top ten finish.

Could all be part of the Everton spin to take the pressure off the board and Moyes, or you could be right and he's gone through his sulk about the lack of money stage and is not just gonna be happy collecting the wages of the 14th highest manager in the world while getting mid table but wants his Everton side to achieve as much as they possible can.

He can talk ambition all he wants, but until he actually shows some in important games it means nothing. At 5.15 pm tomorrow I will remember the ambition he had a few weeks ago after we went one up.

I dunno mate, either way this is more of what he should be saying, this is the Moyes we all used to love.

This post has it pretty much nailed for me.

The fightback at OT the other week was more like it but the litmus test for me is Anfield next season. Until then, words are just words.

I can see some on here are going to be FUMING at those comments.

They Fume if he says something. Fume if he doesn't.

BAD BAD FUMERS THEY ARE.

At least we're not Villa.

David Moyes believes Everton will be unfortunate not to be playing in Europe next season if they go on to cement seventh position in the Premier League.

The Blues play bottom club Wolves on Sunday and are firm favourites to maintain their current placing in the table.

Many times in the past that would have been rewarded with Europa League qualification but – as was also the case last season – it won’t be good enough this time around with only the top six likely to

And Moyes said: “Our form since January has certainly picked up and we want to finish off strongly. At the start of the year if you had said you’ll be seventh at this point then I would have probably said 'that is good'. A lot of years that would have given you a real chance of finishing in a European position but unfortunately that will not be the case this season.â€

Despite being pleased his side are in line for another strong top-half finish, Moyes insists that certainly doesn’t mean he will not be aiming higher next term.

He explained: “If you had given me that at the start of the season I might have said yes as it is close to where we have been in recent years, but I can’t be happy with finishing seventh or eighth because that is no ambition at all.

“I always say at the start of the season that I want to win the league – and I do want to win the league.

“If I can’t finish first then I will try and finish second or third or wherever it takes us. As it stands we can finish seventh so that is what we will try and do.â€

Can you Owen Coyle beauts keep to your own thread please.

You know, the one with quotes without a video.

There's a reason why you're considered one of the best posters on here...
