Moyes or Glasner?

Who would you prefer as Everton manager this month?

So Graham Potter. He's an unknown quantity at our club. Whereas Moyes has succeeded with us before and is doing so again. Glasner would be a massive risk for very little upside given the main thing holding us back at the moment is the players.
What's Graham Potter got to do with anything? I still find it hard to see what Chelsea saw in him as he didn't set the world alight at Brighton. Every new manager is a risk but to move forward you need to be brave. Play it safe and you'll stagnate and never reach for the stars. Moyes isn't a young manager anymore either and he's already indicated he's not going to be here for the long haul so even if he was the best manager for us we'd need to replace him in the next 5 years anyway

To be fair, if you only knew of him from the Prem you could be mistaken from thinking he could be another Roberto Martinez/FA Cup with Wigan.

But to dismiss him so readily as unknown, and comparisons to Potter made me chuckle.

Fella's won a Europa League trophy ffs
Exactly the guy has proven pedigree even more so than Moyes

I think we're probably the poor example of this to be honest - we invested brainlessly, just throwing money around. Some players were VERY far from that but it's like we just wanted to flash some cash, not negotiate.

It's important we don't get any more Barry's though, which is where we fall apart - Brentford needed a striker so went and got one that wasn't solely potential and at least was physically going to cut it in Thiago, for example, and there's many others obviously. Like yeah Barry's potential is great and he might come good, but "might" is doing a lot of pulling here
It definitely feels like we‘re a lot behind teams like Brighton and Brentford when it comes to data based scoutingQ

You really mean that ?
Never thought you would say that.

though a contract means nothing really, so you could just be playing us here with that statement.

Don't know why mate?

People are too keen to talk in absolutes, and put people in boxes.

We shouldn't be going into another massive summer for recruitment, with a manager with months on his contract. He's either the right man, or he isn't. If we're still trying to learn what/who Moyes is, then bloody hell.

Agreed, we can't go into the summer window with a lame duck manager, one way or the other.

Yeah that's exactly how I feel, though I think this Summer will be more of the club's push on transfers, why give the next phase of a rebuild to a manager gone in 12months.

Why extend his contract, when we don't necessarily need to.

He can finish his contract and walk away having done the job he was brought in to do..

He might want it that way, and it's not a bad way to leave club management

RIdiculous to limit success to winning trophies.
Was this your painting mate?

We'll be attractive this summer, with a squad full of younger players and more money to spend.

I don't think Glasner is the guy, he burns bridges everywhere he goes. He should have been fired the minute he told the chairman he wasn't sticking around.

I don't think Moyes is either, but happy to be proven wrong.

we still are on a build also i wouldn’t punt moyes and don’t think TFG will

Nobody knows the future.

But history is a good indicator.

Perhaps there's a reason that Glasner has won 2 trophies of a higher level than Moyes ever has. Or maybe he just fluked it.

Not many clubs in football without a trophy in 3 decades would bring back the manager who was there for over a third of it for their most important rebuild.

As I say, it comes down to hope. I had it in spades under Ancelotti an that didn't quite work out, Anfield derby aside.

But Ancelotti over 10 years wins trophies.

i get mate we all want is to success and get back on the map as poss

ye ( we got carlo ) i was shocked and thought he will make us great again

how wrong was i.

i dont see a need for TFG to want to replace moyes UNLESS they have someone else they want and can get
