I love Moyes. He's been a qualified success at Everton, the qualification being that he's improved us without spending a penny net and for the most part maintained that improvement for a decade now. It's not an easy task, and the difficulty is attested to by the almost unparallelled respect he commands among his peers.

But you already knew that, and its equal parts boring and frustrating hearing about it over and over again without a single trophy to show for it. Those fans who make Moyes himself the target of that boredom and frustration are misguided, however.

It's not being pedantic to demand a sentence makes sense. You and me could guess what he was saying because it's an obvious retort but shorn of context you wouldn't have a clue.
