Moyes decisions today.

Thats just rubbish. Hes obviously very talented but Moyes doesnt want to risk him in this importsnt season.

Nope mate just face facts hes not as good as you think he is

Moyes would use him if he was that good, Behind Ze German and Neville in midfield says it all

Have you not noticed that the team, tactics and formation change for every opponent?

I doubt that that 11 in that formation would have played against one of your 'top' sides. However, that side played yesterday and won. Hitzlsperger did well and is gradually getting match fit, Neville at right back is a better option than moving Jagielka out of the middle, Osman was under instruction to cut in - in the same way as Pienaar was from the left flank.

I've read through 11 pages of this and you seem to have missed every other poster's point of view; so clouded in your ire as you appear to be. As good as Barkley may turn out to be; it is EVIDENT that Moyes does not think he is ready just yet. He certainly is not a viable option to depend on as a holding midfielder for the final throes of a game when we're under the cosh, that's my opinion and I'm just a fan.

Agree with this, Barkley will get his chance.

Im going to disagree with you here. I think Moyes hasnt played him in his best position as of yet and I also think Moyes prefers caution and experience over untested raw talent.

Moyes will know Barkley has a bright future but doest trust him to unleash him as of yet.

As moyes sees us getting a top 4 finish with tight games and the use of experienced players. He may be right for this season. But i want to see more of Ross

So instead of going after a poor Wigan side we sit back bring on Heitinga and hope we pinch another one. Why not grab the game by the bollocks and go for it with an attack minded player in Barkley?

We drop points against Norwich late sitting back, same with Fulham away. Why not keep going for the 90 mins like Utd do week in week out. Too much caution isnt always the best option.

If mason had given Wigan that penalty it would have been 1-1 no doubt and a total change in perspective. At 1-0 we should be looking to kill the game at home not sit back. Hitzlsperger ahead of barkley with a Gibson already as a sitter is just a joke IMO.

And the team, tactics and formation wouldnt have changed for every opponent if injuries and susprnsions never kicked in. Thr first 11 pickd itself and neither Barkley or Hitz are in it - no problem with that.

Problems when we havent got players available and Barkley who seems to be the best footballer doesnt even get a sniff.

I agree we need to be going after teams like Wigan and looking at winning by higher margins; as realistically the best we can hope for us 1-0s and 2-0s if they have a particularly bad day against the likes of Chelsea, and goal difference could be important.

Moyes plays every game as if its against a top team, and this attacking verve comes in at the end of the season when there's nothing to lose but 7th place (see all the 4 goal games end of last season).

If the champions league places go to goal difference, which isn't out the question, and we are involved, we won't qualify. It's that simple - we don't kill teams off and unless there's an unlikely change in mentality after 12 years we won't do so when we're fighting for points.

The game Chelsea won 8-0 we would have scored 3 and sat back. We don't have that ruthlessness and I'm worried it could cost us

I dont understand how people can still have a problem with Moyes, we are joint 4th.

/shrugs

The aim of football is to win. You win by being first.

And even the team in first would have some things which are not right that they'd look at to try and improve. Every team should attempt to improve and be the best they could possibly be.

Of course some people are just talking bollocks really and moaning about stuff which really doesn't need to be moaned about. But people saying we're 4th as if its some magic thing which makes everything perfect is pretty much as annoying as people who do moan when we're 4th.

Why not go for it?

Because as good as you may think he is, I don't think Barkley is single handedly going to change the course of a game in 20 minutes right now. This, based on nothing aside from the fact that he's played 15 minutes of EPL football, is again just my opinion.

Because that's how we play under Moyes. United have to keep going for 90 minutes as they're usually behind given that their defence is unreliable currently.

I can't work out whether your anger is directed at Moyes for not playing Barkley, or at Hitzlsperger for not being Barkley. Either way, you're very shortsighted given that we're 5th in the league currently.

I'm not even going to pass comment on this "the team, tactics and formation wouldnt have changed for every opponent if injuries and susprnsions never kicked in."

Exactly this. Everyone calling for Heitinga on in DM as a goid call because we where on the back foot sgainst Wigan.

Why not go after them and win 3-0. Moyes being too cautious. Every game we've had this season has been relatively tight, whether it be teams at the top middle or bottom. We're essentially set up as hard to break down but capable of pinchibg a goal. Which is great against the top sides but against the lower sides get at them!!!

Because it probably wouldnt, maybe a few swops between Coleman and Hibbert but the first team picks itself now

Howard

Coleman Jags Distin Baines

Mirallas Osman Gibson Pienaar

Felli

Jelavic

Im sure you wont disagree

....can't be having all this hype about Barklay. I've watched him quite a bit - he's really talented but flits in and out of games. I was thinking that if we got 3 or 4 up it would've been good to get him on but 2-1 ahead with 10mins left is not the time for somebody to try nutmegs on the edge of his own box. I hope he turns out to be the real deal but he's yet to convince me.

Not everybody can finish 1st tho mate.

Im not sayin we should be dancing around cos we are 4th, but I think a little realism is needed, im aware of what team I support and im very aware of our history, but we havent been Everton for a while, not the real Everton, a succession of utter sh1t Managers and even worse Boardrooms left us deep in the sh1t, on and off the pitch.

Yes last Season, whilst being decent, wasnt really great, some of the football we played was dire and we again finished in a postion not Everton worthy.

But this Season, the football at times has been breathtaking, at 1 point we led the whole of the World in chances created, we are difficult to beat, yes, we had some crappy draws, but people fear us, honestly, no team wants to face us this Season.

Thats Everton, feared by everybody, scared of nobody.

So whilst we are a Club thats proud of its history, it would be lovely if we as fans enjoyed the here and now and kinda looked past that game at Wembley last Season.

Played 19, Lost 2 Drawn 9 Won 8

I dunno about you cats, but i am over the moon about the first half of this season.

Give me a 4th place deserved or not over the usual mid table ranking prior to Jan 1. I have a glass of champagne and a bottle of bleach waiting for post January.

The best thing about this team is that we have quality in the starting 13 with things that we all know we can improve on.
The worst thing about this team is that we have quality in Only the starting 13 with things that we all know we can improve on.

with a little more Depth, Money and a better training/medical staff, we're not that far off from the top.

...rationally tho, this is Everton...better make that 2 bottles of bleach.

So am I allowed to not be happy about the fact we haven't scored more of those chances thus are not higher up in the league?

Cause thats what i mean, still plenty to "moan" about or question and discuss, plenty of valid things as opposed to complaining that Barkley didn't play as a dm or something.

Realisticlly we're doing pretty damn well. But realisticly we could be doing even better still so i'm not gonna simply go "oh but we're 4th/5th" as if it negates everything else. We'd probably be having the same discussion if we were 10th.

"I can't believe we threw away 2 points at the weekend"
"Oh but mate we're 10th stop moaning, its better than being 14th like normal"
"Yeah but we could be even higher if we didn't make certain mistakes"
"Yeah but the teams above us spent more money than us, how on earth could we compete and be 5th at Christmas"

You know what i mean?

You know you probably just ended your own arguement with the above statement.

Moyes may not feel he is ready especially when 3 points are a must in like you say this important season.
