Moyes' Contract Dithering

I take ya point, but...........why did the club allow Carsley & AJ leave if there is little money to spend...as i said FARCE...springs to mind.

I think almost entirely because the players expressed a desire to leave. Moyes record has shown that he doesnt stand in the way of players that want to leave, he's always said he only wants players that want to play for Everton.

I completely agree though that everything should have been done to keep those players.

we cant really start blaming moyes/the board/the club before we know whats really happened. I just hope sooner or later they tell us something

In a sense, you're right. Without facts we can only speculate as to what is wrong at the moment. One problem, though, is that given the nature of football in general, and our club in particular, those "truths" will remain known to just a select few. It's not surprising, therefore, that people do theorize as to what is currently the case at Everton. I've got a theory myself, which may be right or wrong. I won't go into it here but it involves some blame being spread across the higher ranks of the club. Clearly people have been lying to us, as is seen by contradictory statements by Moyes, Kenwright, Wyness and Ross. There also seems to be a bit of oneupmanship going on when you read between the lines in interviews given. So things are not right, and it's natural, as Evertonians, that we seek to understand the situation at hand.

I don't get this constant accusation of people lying about this, that and the other. It's a pretty naive point of view to say the least. Is it really so impossible that people stated desires with all intentions of meeting them, but simply couldn't either through fault of their own, fault of others or simple bad luck?

Instead we get people accusing the club of lying because we havn't signed Moutinho. We get people accusing the club of poor communication when they don't tell us anything.

It's almost a tabloid mentality that rather than there being an innocent explanation for something there has to be a big conspiracy or someone being diddled. Believe it or not, where transfers are concerned I doubt the opinions of fans comes into it.

Put yourself in their shoes and I doubt your conclusions would be anything like as sinister as they appear on here.

Slow down there, Bruce. There has been a difference in statements between Moyes and other representatives of the club regarding transfer money, and when it was available. In effect, someone is telling a lie. You might be of the opinion that this bending of the truth is not lie telling. I view it differently.

A lie is a deliberate thing, a mistake isn't. It is possible for the club to make a mistake you know.

I understand that, mate. But it appears that Moyes has deliberately ensured that he distances himself from some statements made by Kenwright and company. This was days after these were made. In effect, he is questioning what the club claims is the truth. The hint is that there has been a deliberate attempt to mislead the fans on transfer policy.

I havent seen a difference in statements what so ever, all right the underlying tones seem to vary slightly but words are words and just because you infer something from a statement doesnt mean its actually what they are saying.

As far as i'm aware the club has said they that money has been available to Moyes and they are working around the clock to get players in. Moyes has said that he has been given money to work with and is trying to get transfers in.

As far as im aware the club has never said how much they have made available and all moyes has said is that we dont have the money other clubs do. There is no contradiction.

Also Moyes only comment about the transfers is that they started a little later than he wanted. He doesnt give a reason and has in no way contradicted anything(from what ive seen) that the club has said.

This is getting ridiculous i completely agree with Bruce, people arent content with the simple reasons why things arent happening and are concocting scandal after scandal

Well, this is precisely it. The underlying tone of Moyes' statements seem to imply that there is something not quite correct about the club's statements. You've spotted it, I've spotted it and no doubt others have. And then there's "well that's the club's statement" and then going onto take a slightly different position. Moyes has always been loyal to the club and has never had a tendency to leave it open as to whether there is a rift. Nor has he ever played it so cryptic before concerning matters related himself, the club and transfer policy. To me, that says "trouble at Mill".

moyes was known at preston as 'dithering dave', over his prolonged signings  i'm not surprised its taking so long, its just the way he is

I think he dithers just to windup internet types like us.

You know he's just sitting in his office laughing and laughing while propping his feet up on the desk, leaning back, and smoking a cigar.
