Moyes and youth

I think the first thing to point out, if Moyes has given many young player a chance. We have broken our youth record on about 4 occasions I think. He has though, not always given them enough game time, and has grown increasingly cautious.
I think the caution is a reflection of the time he has spent at the club. IT is easy to bomb out older players who are not "yours", but he has now brought all of the players too the club, and grown up with many of them over the last 10 years (Hibbert/Osman).
Moyes on the whole is a pragmatic, and conservative manager and thinker. There is a contradiction in his thinking. He points out "if your good enough your old enough", but the problem is, without support, and patience it's rare that most young players are good enough straight away. I don't doubt people like Osman/Peinaar etc are better than Barkley, just as Jagielka/Distin are better than Dufy. However football is a squad game, and everton can't afford to have a big enough squad of players of that quality. In the absence of any rotation, a lot of our players have seemed tired.
There is something to also say, that you always have to have an eye on tomorrow. Fergusan does this very well, he constantly brings through players. We do need a manager who's willing to do this. Whereas early in his career, very few players bit Moyes in the backside when they left, over the last year or two, there have been a few. Akpan, Mcmannaman, Ruddy to name but three, and Jutkeivich has looked good at Middlesborough. They are not world beaters, but may have been good squad fillers. I worry we will lose Barkley, Duffy and Vellios.
As a final aside, on the small amount I have seen Mcaleny I have been very impressed. He seems to be the most "match ready" of our youngstars and reminds me of Jeffers, great quick movement and an eye for a goal. I have been surprised he hasn't been put in more. In certain games, he's the type of guy who could be a good option to bring on. Do people share my confusion on this issue, and my analysis that he looked as sharp as any of our young players?
People have to remember how good Anichebe was when he was a teenager, he looked very awkward. However, he looks the real deal now, having in the last year only been given a run in the side. I think we have a number of youngstars with similar attributes, and going forward I think they should be fazed in more.
