Moyes agrees "hands off deals" with Fellaini and Baines

I'd rather he gave us money for Baines. He is 28 and has now peaked, sell whilst he is on top.
First off we really need to re-examine these arbitrary "he's peaked" ages.

Baines is more important to the way we play than Fellaini. He's also better. If we hold on to Fellaini this year he's probably just gone next year; if we hold on to Baines then he can retire as an Everton player. We'd also probably get more for Fellaini. All-in-all the choice is clear although I'd love to hold on to both of them.

"During the 2012–13 season Baines created 116 chances for his teammates, more than any other player in Europe's top five leagues"

If we can't replace his value to the team with the money we get (which, let's face it, would be a massive long-shot to get someone as good or better) then why are we selling him?

How do we progress by selling our best players (and arguably the best left back in the world) and getting in players who aren't as good? How is that going to make us better? Even Moyes (whom I rate highly in the transfer market) couldn't be expected to replace Baines with equal or better value. Baines could easily be playing at a high level for 5 more years. Utter madness to want to sell him.

What is the end goal of buying and selling players? Isn't it to get the best player possible? Well we have him. At LB we are sorted. Job done. Now we need to focus on getting one of the best strikers (or one of the best midfielders) to compliment him and our other great players.

I can see where you're coming from but you could also make the argument that selling at the right time is what a club like ours under the current board must do.
An example of selling at the right time is Arsenal and Spurs and not holding on to players for so long. Also Baines is a massive part of how we play under Moyes, who is to say that the new manager will want to change our style and focus more on the midfielders and attackers being the source for chances created and not a left back?

Brill post, Baines need to be kept on for our team sake.

man utd are gagging for a decent central midfielder and centre half, before they look at Baines.

In business, managers always try and try and take people with them they feel would benefit. I would not be suprised to see intentions on Fellaini and Jags especially. They have Buttner coming through the ranks and I would be more suprised if Baines was a first choice target.

Dont see why Man Utd need a centre half, they have Ferdinand, Vidic, Evans, Jones and Smalling. Not a priority to strengthen this summer at all.

The only players I ont want us to lose under any conditions are miriallas and Jags. The others could be sold to buy players we could use to the improvement of the team.

Mirallas over Baines ?

South African newspapers says Moyes wants to take one of his Everton assistant coaches with him to United -
he has also fired United assistant coaches Mike Phelan and Eric Steele -
amazing achievement for someone who is still the Everton manager as well

Well lets hope that all he takes and stay away from our best kids and players. Don't like it that the Man u Boss will know everything about us.

Because any new manager worth his salt will work with the resources he's got, and would be a complete moron to sideline or under-use arguably the best left back (or at very least one of top 2/3) in world football.
