Moyes agrees "hands off deals" with Fellaini and Baines

The majority seem to think that Fellaini is off this summer. Just wondering if we had the choice would people prefer him to stay or take the £20 million spending money? I can't decide.

media talking about this as though it will happen is just sign of their attitude to us, but blues joining in now doesn't make sense. even heard some supposed blues on radio saying they are fine with it as though we have to know our place. but doesn't make any sense. United in the past tend to buy young to replace people close to the end of their best years. Fellaini maybe just qualifies but recently he hasn't looked like a cert to start so why would a manager who has seen the down side of him risk the cash when he has a choice across the globe. On top of this why would Fellaini and Baines leave a club that guarantees a full season in the first team at a decent level during a year when they have to stay in eyes of their international managers. Neither have said they want to go, Moyes has said he won't buy them, and do managers really go back and blindly raid their old clubs? not seen it too often before and they tend to pay over the odds for journeymen when they do.

Talking to a United fan pal of mine, and he is worried that Moyes will throw Fellaini forward....and for that reason doesnt want him.

Cant blame him.

also a good reason why its probably the last place Fellaini would go

"It's a massive loss to lose the manager," Baines told Everton's official website.
"It was a sad day after the last game at Goodison particularly because you've been working with him for so long, he's always around, he's such a hard worker and he doesn't miss a beat.
"It will be so strange the day we walk through the door and he's not there. But football clubs live on and we'll live on, we'll move on."
However, Baines was keen to point out that he wants the club to keep progressing in Moyes' absence.
"We'll always remember what he did for the club and where he's put us, but it's up to the rest of us, the people who remain and the people who come in, to take it forward now and build on the foundations he's worked hard to put in," he added.

Top man sounds like he's staying, also "people who come in" external appointment?

Like you I'm worried about Baines and Felli - but to me there's a bigger risk. Naismith and Moyes were big pals and I think tbh that Naismith could be tempted?

I hated him there too as it promoted hoofball but I can see Moyes' logic. Anichebe wasn't going to get loads of goals and Jelavic turned crap. There is no way he will play there at Man U with RVP, Hernandez, Welbeck (and Rooney if he stays) upfront and Kagawa and Rooney who can play just off the front. There's a bit of difference in class.

I hope this gentlemans agreement is only in place unless we consider selling. If we consider selling either one, we absolutely want Manu in the bidding. Not that Davey is one to overpay, but you always want as many of those with money to spend to be in te negotiation. ."

so this is why Moyes played fellaini upfront Despite Fellaini operating at times in the No10 position from where he scored Everton's winner against United in the opening match of the season, he and Moyes view him as a deep-lying midfielder.
Last week, Fellaini said: "I'm happy with my season, although I didn't play in my best position. I'm not a No10. David Moyes predicts my future as a defensive midfielder, but due to a lack of offensive power, he plays me up front. In the future I want to play as a 6 or an 8. From there I can create danger and score goals."
