Aye. Saw a couple of guys touring a few years ago who do a tribute show to nick drake. Played his music and talked about his life. Was excellent. Your man Elliot Smith reminds me of him at times.

This song you hear both Drake and Lennon's influence. I mean who else has ever written a song about struggling with addiction, specifically heroin addiction in this case, and made it sounds so beautiful in such a stark, haunting way.

Pop Will Eat Itself.
That is a proper shout there - genuinely under-rated, not some awesome, critically adored band that didn't achieve world domination. Most people would think PWEI are bad, and they'd be right in a lot of ways, but they were also innovative and had their own sound - way beyond a lot of bands more critically regarded.

Jane's addiction a bit underrated IMHO - although prob everyone rates them pretty highly. Reckon they are at the level of The Pixies and Dinosaur in defining that 90s rock sound, but wouldn't typically be thought of as being at that tier.

JA are one of my all time favourite acts and I firmly believe that if Perry hadn't been more interested in staying alive than achieving international megastardom then they'd have done what Nirvana did.

Always had so much respect for him just walking away when he did and getting clean. They would've been absolutely huge if he'd not done so.

Anyone remember local band in the 90s, Pele?

I thought they were very good.

I'm good mates with the old drummer Dally. He"s now the face of sky vegas. They were very good and very underrated in the UK. They had more success in Europe.

Ian is still gigging I think. I did hear that they were thinking of putting the band back together.
